I know they have to qualify via a play-off to earn a place, just because I haven't qualified it doesn't mean I a) haven't read it or b) understood it. I know exactly what cup competition Tahiti are in currently, I know how they qualified. The point is what benefit is it to anyone participating in a tournament and conceding a hatful of goals? It doesn't benefit anyone, does it? The opposition get to run up a cricket score. There's also a chance they'll qualify for the World Cup - However slim. Let's just quit. Like I said - it's my opinion, doesn't mean it is right or wrong and the same applies to yours. My opinion is it's pointless your point is it isn't.
I wonder how much Palermo would accept for Hernandez, they got relegated from Serie A this year didnt they
It isn't fair to say a country doesn't deserve to be at a competition. It was refreshing to see Tahiti there; everybody knew they were going to get beaten, they're a team of taxi drivers and lifeguards for goodness sake, but if they won a continental competition, they have every right to be there. We all know that anything can happen in football, so why should countries like Andorra, Guam, Tibet, Papa New Guinea and Lesotho be told "no, we're only letting good countries into the WORLD Cup, even though you're in the world, you can't compete."? Uzbekistan came within one goal of automatic qualification to Brazil (they'll have to play off against somebody else now); it would've been great to see them there. As a football fan, there's nothing better for me than watching a new team, seeing their best players and watching them spring surprises. If it was just Brazil, France, Italy, Spain et al every single time, it'd be boring imo. If you want fairness, why don't we stick Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal and Holland in Group A, England, Belgium, Poland, Denmark, Ukraine and Russia in Group B and so on, and then have Andorra, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Gibraltar, The Faroe Islands and San Marino in the last group. Still top team qualifies for World Cup, 2nd place gets a play off. Then everybody could have a ****fest over groups A and B and nobody would moan about the so called 'little teams' trying their hardest to represent their country as best they can.
When's the next games? It's all gone a bit quiet on this thread since it became about whether Tahiti are a valid team or not.
Yes. I stand corrected. The Final is on sunday with the 3rd place game before it. KO 17.00hrs and 22.00hrs.
Right then, ignoring the petty argument, there is a game on tonight: Brazil vs. Uruguay in the semi-finals. Expecting Brazil to win, but the Uruguayans may up their game against one of their big rivals.
