    That's the real point, if he'd gone on in "mens clothes" ie a suit he wouldnt have got a single vote. So all this about "embracing people for what they are, people should be able to be themselves" is bollocks. If anything this is singleing him out.

    And people keep getting confused by comparrissons with Dana International. This bloke isnt a transexual, he's a drag act.

    I absolutely hate Eurovision, ****e music, voted on by racists.

    Nice to see Russell Brand won it though.

    It has zero credibility but a reasonable entertainment factor. It's just like a big freaky musical euro-circus.

    It emphasises to me that the UK is pretty much the only genuinely cool and funny place in Europe, the rest are just a bunch of zany pranksters.

    I think anyone with ears could tell that the best song by a ****ing mile was the Dutch one, which plenty of countries gave 12 points to. What did the UK vote as top? The freak with a beard. So how does that back up your point?

    People in the UK ALWAYS go on about the 'political voting' and it being a joke but every single ****ing year we give good points to Ireland* and they give them back to us. How is that any different?

    * when they qualify

    The Guest appearance of Jessica Mauboy from Australia boosted the viewer total to over 1 million here in Oz. Our Ethnic TV Station, SBS, broadcasts the Eurovision every year here but this is the first time it has gone over a million. She's a very pretty girl Jessica:

    An 'ethnic tv station'? Wtf?!? Everyone in the world is ethnic. It's one of the misused words there is.

    WTF?

    Surely you mean voted for by people who fear being invaded/having their gas cut off?

    No mate, they are called "Ethnic" because they show what you might call "Foreign Films" with sub-titles from all over the world as well as the usual 'soapies' etc. Their main sport is "Soccer" (thank heavens otherwise we would get very little here) and they cover just about every league in the world. It's called "Soccer" (known on SBS as "The World Game") here because "Football" is reserved for Australian Rules Football.
    When the World Cup Broadcasts became available for tender the Commercial Stations in Australia wanted them of course but they were given to SBS because they supported "Soccer" between World Cups. The Commercial Stations would have crucified them with adverts.
    When Australia bid for the World Cup it clashed with the Australian Rules season start and they refused to budge which would have meant that nearly all of the stadiums would have been unavailable. I believe there was talk of Government intervention on this matter.

    But that's my point - the word ethnic doesnt mean foreign. Every Australian person is ethnic.

    I don't quite think so "Chin" - "Ethnic": - relating to a population subgroup (within a larger or dominant national or cultural group) with a common national or cultural tradition.
    Our SBS TV Station caters for the many 'sub-groups' residing in Australia as against the Dinky-Di Aussie Culture. Not much Aussie Rules but more 'soccer' sub-titled documentaries and films.

    I'm ethnic. You're ethnic. Everyone in the world is ethnic. The confusion comes from the word being used to actually describe the meaning ethnic minority.
