Giacamo Bonaventura would be in miles ahead of Balotelli. I cant believe he's been left out, Milan's PotY by a mile, one of the stand-out performers in the league and he covers multiple positions. Balotelli didnt even make the initial squad, never mind the cut, so the author clearly has just named players he's heard of.
Never mind that, Ive got myself thinking, he'd be a great signing and I'm sure he'd adapt. Milan are skint at the minute unless Berlusconi sells, somebody bigger than us should go for him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-is-ac-milans-most-improved-player-in-2015-16
England out of the top ten in the today's new world rankings, down to 11th. Northern Ireland up to 25th, their highest ranking ever.
Interesting debate on the BBC at the moment about which current England players would get into the Euro 96 team.......very easy to romanticise but I don't think many would have a shout. I'd take Seamen over Hart, Neville and Pearce over whichever fullbacks Roy goes with. Southgate and Adams were better than we currently have now, Ince would be chosen over Dier, Gazza would have to start too. Up top Shearer is a given, maybe with Kane pushing Sheringham. Anderton and McMananaman would be the two under most threat from Alli and errrrr, not so sure! Oh yeah, i'd take Venebals a million times before taking Roy as manager too.
Delli Alli, Kane, Vardy, are all I can think of, bloody hell this is quite sobering thinking about it!
Hart, Rooney, Vardy, Kane and Alli would all be on the bench as a minimum, Alli would certainly be pushing for a starting spot but you could argue that he is too similar to Gazza, Rooney, Vardy and Kane are all better than Sheringham, however, as a partnership, Sheringham and Shearer were superb. It is an incredibly sobering thought!
Might be me but I really don't think it is. We've got an average XI now and we had a very good one then. The only areas we might improve using today's players are wide midfield.
