Scouts from Barca, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City were at several Derby games to watch him last season. He's only just 18 and he's going to go for a lot of money before too long.
Rhodes would gladly sign for us tomorrow, he needs no convincing, but we won't pay £8m and £45k a week for anyone.
If he wants to sign, he'll take a pay cut won't he? Not sure about the £8m price tag either, it seems a lot for a player who's never played in the PL. If Blackburn were stupid enough to pay it then that's their problem, but if a player wants to leave and they're over valuing him, perhaps they'll come to some sort of compromise. I highly doubt we're after him at this point anyway, a move in January is more likely if we need a striker.
Blackburn paid £8m for him and they want to keep him, why would they compromise? He's a non-starter now, he's a non-starter in January.
In the same way no one saw Evans leaving, what if someone makes an offer for Fryatt or offers to take Prossy on loan?? We'd snap their hand off and use the cash to improve the squad.
Back on topic... it's been a good game this. Enjoying some decent commentary too from Martin Tyler and Andy Hinchcliffe (referring back to the Mark Lawro thread).
the boy Hughes is a talent and he might have a wee bit of growing to do but he's so lightweight he'll get eaten alive by top draw central midfielders. and he looks like Malfoy from Harry Potter.
