    always does - thats why South Africa were banned from international sport until they changed their politics / regime - and why the 1980 and 1984 Olympics were boycotted by the US and the Eastern Bloc respectively to name but a few - the only time that Sport and Politics 'mix' is when theres a political expedient for it to do so

    I believe you would be hard pressed to convince the indigenous Australian Aboriginal population of that statement. We are shortly about to celebrate "Australia Day"(Jan 26th), our National day which commemorates the day of arrival of the first settlers and a British proclamation claiming parts of Australia.
    Aboriginals have various other names for it, a popular choice being "Invasion Day."
