The police like suspects to give interviews so they can watch closely their body actions. I reckon the police are already building a case against them but know they need to have a very strong case of highly circumstantial evidence at worse before they arrest these two.

I really hope they are but I don't believe people are thinking things through regarding the 'targeted abduction' theory that the police are putting forward. "All the hallmarks of a targeted abduction by a gang." Not saying you're not right mate but the whole thing takes some believing and I'd welcome your opinion because I'm baffled by all this. According to the main police theory a gang of men had kept the McCanns under surveillance for days, rushed in between checks, snatched a girl who could've easily woken up screaming and carried her through the streets of a busy holiday resort. They did all that without being captured on CCTV, challenged in the street by any of the nearby 'Tapas Nine' or anyone else and avoided being snapped in the background of thousands of holiday photos. And wouldn't they have walked directly away from where they knew the nearby McCanns, and their friends, were sitting? They went into the flat, took the girl from her bed and left without leaving a scrap of forensic evidence. Having taken the girl they know now the alarm will have gone up so they have to vanish, with their victim, under the spotlight of people searching and the police & media present in large numbers. The police's star witness apparently saw one of the gang as he strolled through the streets with the girl ....... does that really sound like the actions of a professional gang? They have to get her out of Portugal without her giving them away, without her being spotted and without a passport. Then the 'buyer' has to integrate an instantly recognisable child into their family, neighbourhood, school etc. And what would this gang earn for all of this, a few thousand quid each with the prospect of up to 25 years in prison if caught. It just all sounds like a badly written novel to me, what do you think?

I hope you're right mate but I find all this baffling tbh. This 'pre-planned targeted abduction' theory the police are all excited about seems too weird to be true. They've brought forward a 'start new witness' who actually gave his statement shortly after the incident and said he was up to 80% sure the man he saw was Gerry McCann. They follow it up with an e-fit that looks like Gerry McCann. What I don't get is that this professional kidnap gang managed to keep the McCanns under surveillance all week without being captured on CCTV or any of the 1000's of holiday snaps. There are suggestions that they actually posed as fake charity collectors without any attention from the police. They then go into an apartment block, find the flat open, take the girl without her or the twins waking up, open the shutters and climb out without being seen, leaving a shred of forensic, dna or fingerprints. All extremely well planned, organised and executed. Then, incredibley after all that hard work, the 'professional kidnapper' simply strolls through the streets of a busy holiday resort with the sleeping girl in his arms ... doesn't sound pre-planned or professional to me. He'll know, at this time that the parents or friends may have checked, found the girl missing and raised the alarm. He doesn't even walk in the opposite direction to where he knows the McCanns and their friends will certainly be. The gang then have to get this instantly recognisable girl out of Portugal without her giving them away, raising any suspicion or the need for a passport. Does that sound possible to you? I can't get my head round it.
When you put it like that it does sound odd. Then again two perfectly sane parents killing their child and acting though nothing has happened sounds really odd. As does banging on about it till Scotland Yard re opens a case that had gone away long ago. If they guilty and said nowt they would be home free now.
What if one is innocent and one is guilty and hiding the truth fella? The Guilty would feel compelled to support the innocent in the campaign so not to draw suspicious attention even though it poses a risk of the guilty being found out.
Never thought of that tbh. They were together that evening apart from checking the room. Jesus. Just thought if Gerry did it without Kate's knowledge she is heading for mental Hell...Cant see it though.
There's an old, but often true, saying that keeps springing to mind, "Methinks the lady doth protest too much." I really hope they weren't somehow involved but I can't see this continual need to give TV interviews. Their anguished appearance on Crimewatch accomplished nothing.
Like most of the other theories that have no actual proof I'm afraid. The last two from the police are just as flimsy ......... there's the 'targeted professional kidnapping' and the 'disturbed burglar' theory. They claim that the girl may have disturbed a burglar. So he obviously did what every petty sneak thief does, strangles the girl and carries the body through the streets to find a convenient dumping spot Your theory isn't as far fetched as either of those tbh.
I think I'd instinctively dislike Gerry McCann in any circumstance, he's a very weird bloke who's quite naturally been given a lot of sympathy. Thinking he may have had a 3 year old kidnapped means it's difficult to look at him too critically. But his comments on Crimewatch were as cold as ice ... .... "I decided early on not to blame us and to move on with our lives. There's no point thinking about what we should have done, in hindsight, or thinking about the ifs & buts." What!? I'd never stop blaming myself if I'd left the kids at home, while I went out on the piss, and one was kidnapped. Especially when there was a two-bob babysitting service available. He's a wrong 'un whether he was involved or not.
I have the same opinion of him Smug....There is something not at all right with this guy. I fail to understand how ANY parent cannot look at their own actions given what he and his wife did to their kids...he is lucky..very lucky the authorities haven't took the other kids away by now.
