I dont understand this automatic idea that because you're from a certain country you should want other teams who you normally hate for 52 weeks of the year to win cos they're playing a foreign team who you have no strong thoughts about either way. I think it's weirder that people cheer wildly when Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal et al lose in the domestic game but then want them to win when they play another team from another country.
With that logic why would you support an England team that is made up of players from clubs you hate 52 weeks of the year?
I couldnt give two ****s about the England national team. So why do people hate them when they play other English teams? if there's 2 English teams playing each other domestically who should they want to win?
Well that's up to you. I personally would love to see England do well this summer. I think most english football supporters would.
I don't hate any English clubs, I'd rather see one club win more than the other and that will change every game. A lot of people wanted Liverpool to beat Chelsea on Sunday, they don't support them, but they would rather see them win. When it comes to English teams vs foreign teams, I'd rather see them win every day of the week.
I counted 6 players from 22 who were English started that match, 9 from 36 named players on the day, with neither manager and neither owner. #justsaying, as I believe the kids say.
I didn't say I support the English players, I support the English clubs. So you're saying if City's and Chelsea's roles were reversed, you wouldn't support them because we'd have too many foreigners playing?
Crazy / awful defending by Chelsea when 1-0 up for the first AM goal. The game changer as far as i am concerned. What followed mattered little. IF Chelsea had gone in 1-0 up @ HT Jose would have killed the game in the 2nd half. In saying all that.... Real Madrid look nailed on to win the CL now. imo,.
Erm, no. I didnt say anything even remotely along those lines. I didnt say Chelsea fans shouldnt support Chelsea in Europe, I asked why fans who normally hate them would suddenley support them cos they're playing a foreign team?
You implied that as their were only only 6 English players, English fans shouldn't support them. AS I have said, very few fans hate other teams and would generally want to see them do well against the foreign teams. Judging from your comments about the national team, I've realise you're not the sharpest tool.
I didnt imply anything of the kind. The argument about why people should support them in Europe was given to me 'because they're English'. I pointed out that other than where they play their games, there is very little that is English about them. And judging by the national outpouring of whinge last Sunday it does seem that a lot of people hate Chelsea and their manager. Haha, genius. So because I dont care about the national team it means I'm thick? Using the criteria then there's a lot of knuckle-dragging England fans who spend their evenings reading Nietzsche.... And if you're going to criticise somebody's intelligence you should probably construct your sentences in the correct tense.
You're the one who stated the intelligence argument. I never f**king brought it up. "Judging from your comments about the national team, I've realise you're not the sharpest tool" (sic). Brilliant.
