It's actually even harsher than this.

The player was suspended for three matches in last season's European competition. So Legia Warsaw naturally assumed that he would be suspended for their first two qualifying legs against St Patrick's Athlethic and the first Celtic match, but simply because they failed to put him on the list for St Patrick's Athletic (clearly innocently on the basis that he was suspended) those two matches don't count towards his ban!
 
Much as I wanted celtic to qualify this ruling is ridiculously harsh. What difference did the guy make? I know rules are rules but sometimes the law can be an ass. Unless celtic can get some better players on board they may even struggle to win the spl let alone do anything in Europe. Can't see the manager getting an invite to the Christmas bash if things don't get better soon.
 
I'm in Poland at the moment and I can tell you they are not very happy with this. Legia haven't been in the champions league for 13 years and their fans are gutted.

Takes the piss if you ask me.

Has just sacked his legal team and replaced them with Celtic's after hearing they had lost both legs and still came out with a result
 
I don't know why, but it sounds really really dodgy to me - not the first time this has happened to Celtic either.
