I keep an eye on Norwich (local PL club) and half an eye on the Linnets (King's Lynn). No passion for either of 'em - they couldn't put tears in my eyes, unlike City.
You are allowed a Scottish club , provided it isn't Rangers or Celtic , preferably somebody like Cowdenbeath or Stenhousemuir
I don't support anyone other than Leicester, but there are sides in pretty much every league that I want to see do well. Because of things like the way they play or the players they have or their fan bases.
You can only support one club, but can follow others, I've always followed Chelsea as my dad supports them and he has always looked out for City results too, and last few years I also follow whoever is playing Wednesday as 75% of my footy team support them and coming back to the pub at 4 on a sat after a match to see us winning and them losing is ace
Footys a super game and I support the sport not one team. I love The Arsenal, The Chelsea and The Super Spurs, they're my fav. London soccer teams. I like the Manchester teams of course, the Red ones and The Skye Blues. Also their fiendly rivals The Toffefees and The Other Reds. 'Course I love the Hull Tigers the best, but have to admit that when they play the players from my accidental geographical nearest footy faves The Super Magpies, my loyalties are divided. How I wish our recent game between my home town heroes and my Local Heroes had ended a threes all tie and not a 3 scores to 2 narrow away team success. Footy makes me happy, because no matter who wins, the game's the winner. Hurrah!
That's like a cross between Ron Manager and Alan Partridge. EDIT: Lloydy appears to have beaten me to it.
Only support City and I don't think you can really 'support' two teams unless maybe you move somewhere and start to watch the local team as has happened with my Dad and City. He was born a Mackem but after moving here and going with me to the KC for the last few years we went to the SOL in the away end the other day and I'm fairly sure he was supporting City. There are a lot of other teams I like but that is always down to the players that are playing at that specific time. The first other team I remember liking was Man United when they had Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and Berbatov as they were incredible to watch. Spurs last few seasons due to Bale/Van der Vaart/Modric. Madrid due to Bale/Ronaldo/Alonso/Varane. Juve are great to watch as well with Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal etc.
Everyone of my mates who supports city now used to support another team when we were younger. We're all about 30 now and city were down in div 3 and 4. Like most kids we had our parents influences so supported hull. But we all watched Liverpool in the late 80s and then the premier league from 92. No kid I knew smashed the ball around at park pretending to be Payton, fettis, or windass. We all wanted to be rush, shearer, cole, chapman, lineker. So I think that's why most city fans around my age like other teams.
Lived in and around Middlesbrough for a few years and went to watch them regularly, firstly at the back end of their last season at Ayresome Park and then at the new Cellnet/Riverside Stadium. I have a lot of mates up there who support Boro, and my first child was also born there, so the town has special importance for me. I would never go so far as to say they're my "second team", and their results are not that important to me on a weekly basis, but in the bigger picture I certainly don't like to see them doing badly. The place really buzzed during the era of Jouninho and Ravanelli and it's sad to see the ground half empty these days as they labour in mid-table Championship mediocrity.
Funny you should name the team Newland, but when I was aged nine (in 1969) I had my tonsils out at Driffield Hospital! The 10 year old girl in the next bed was from Stenhousemuir and I've kept an eye on the 'Warriors' ever since. So I suppose, they count as a second club!
