bonnet, if it wasn`t for the Holocaust Isreal wouldn`t exist today. Take a look at the recent history of the area (who broke the 1967 border agreements etc) and try to get a balanced view.
Whatever way the Jews got into Israel is down to their determination, as the whole of Europe tried to disown them after WWII. Many have since tried to displace the Jews by force, and each time Israel have retaliated with force. If the surrounding Arabs can't grasp that the Israeli's are defending their own people, the don't whinge when they hit back. Simple answer, stop upsetting the Israeli's, leave them in peace, and they will in return leave you alone. It really is that simple!
I agree with you on a lot of stuff Bonnet but I have to say I completely disagree with you on this. I would also add that your last couple of posts about this subject matter is indicative of the ignorance of the majority of neutrals who support Israel. Not calling you ignorant btw, but what I mean is that your opinion is based on what you get given by mainstream news, which is often simplistic, incomplete or inaccurate. Your comment on Hamas firing rockets starting the latest conflict is one such example. It's a lot like basing your opinion on footballers and football games based solely on listening to Shearer and Jamie Rednapp instead of watching the game yourself. I do think Sisu goes too far sometimes and asks for polarised reactions which is the wrong way to go about it tbh. His signature about Yitzak Rabin is unfair and I have a great deal of respect for what he tried to do but was sadly killed. But the idea that Israel can justify any form of apartheid style occupation over any group of people based on religion is unfair and completely inhumane. The jews are as mad as the nazis who tried to exterminate them. I find them a hateful race of people. Am pretty sure all the moderate normal ones are fine, but the really religious ones are as insane as Muslim terrorists. I signed the petition to get Palestine seen as a country by parliament had a letter back from my MP too. I genuinely do think the world would be a better place without any religion. 2 billion a year seems good, but what is difficult to quantify is the impact on public services. Now clearly immigration helps us to get nurses and doctors to run the NHS, but there are other areas where the benefits of immigration are questionable such as suppressing wages and so it's not racist to point this out. I believe a points based system where trades and specialties that we as country have a shortfall would be reasonable approach. As for the Middle East, Hamas and the Israeli leadership are as bad as each other.

People will just find something else to fight about, religion is used as an excuse but the religion itself is not the cause. Most if not all religion is based on love and peace it's the interpretaion of men with extreme views, views that mean they use religion as a tool to get what they want that is the problem.
