Like you I was drinking most nights, usually wine with dinner but decided.to.not.drink.during the week.from.now on. I very rarely go.out so if i didn't drink at home I wouldn't drink at all, but as I enjoy a flood red that isn't on. Nfu, have you tried morrisons for wine? They often have good offers on. Got a 12 quid bottle of rioja for 4.99 breathing nicely in the kitchen
Monday to Wednesday I don't drink. Thursdays and Sundays - maybe! Fridays and Saturdays - as much Real Ale and Single Malt Scotch as possible. Can't stand commercial brands of beer, cider and alcopops though - if it's advertised, I don't drink it.
Just start a family. Works a treat. No alcohol, no free time and no horizontal exercise. Grocery bill is cheaper as well; baby milk isn't as expensive as alcohol (no that is not for me before anyone posts to the contrary). MoH
ASDA do a lot of rotating discounts - e.g. Wolf Blass, Casillero del Diablo, etc. You have to look - but some will be as low as £5. (It's the only reason I go in ASDA)
I used to like my single malts a little too much looking back, I used to buy it by the case and eventually started glugging it rather then enjoy it. I still drink scotch or JD but no where near the quantities i was used to, maybe a bottle a month. I,ve found that I drink a lot more in summer then winter, because I really enjoy sat out side with a beer, at the minute I guess I,m somewhere around 20-30 cans a week, and i go out once a week and drink anywhere from 9-12 pints, but dont drink shorts very often in a boozer.
It's nice reaading this as I finish a bottle of Merlot after watching the games today whilst drinking 6/7 beers. Worry about it later.
I don't drink particularly often as I can't drag my boring mates out often enough. But when I do drink I drink a lot, Bank Holiday Sunday I ended up in Pozition after about two bottles worth of vodka. Even for me that's a lot - I don't remember half the night. I don't plan to cut down as I only do it once every 5 weeks or so - although I'll be at Uni in September so I'll probably be dead in 2015.
You had better check the sell by date before you open it OLM my poison is Rum I love Lambs and the girl that used to promote it in the seventies Caroline Monroe what a girl.
I wouldn't want to cut it out completely. I have given up going for a couple of pints on my way home from work, and generally only drink Friday/Saturday now. Mostly for health/weight reasons, but also because it so bloody expensive these days.
Anyone else notice that a lot of the premium lagers stella. bud.becks. are not 5% now but 4.8% .Wondered why i could go through a case without kicking the cat.Cats happy
I'm not a big drinker, never at home and when I go to city I may have two pints but that's it. I have a little boy so drinking at home isn't a nice thought I'd hate to drop him or something like that.
I already did enough drinking to last me a lifetime so very rarely bother these days, am thankful I didn't get into more bother than I did with it, there are more worthwhile things to be doing than getting pissed up, lifes not that bad.
I need to think about my health lol, I drink 8 cans of Carling/Fosters on average 5 nights a week, I smoke like a chimney and I have quite a lot of takeaway. I will probably be dead soon (I am 26)
I was 12 months sober on the 17th April after going through 12 weeks of AA. I'm not going to start preaching, but go on their website and take the test, I'm sure there will be a lot of people judging by their answers, who would be surprised at what it tells them!! http://www.aa.org/lang/en/subpage.cfm?page=71
Just done that and answered 3 yes, answering 4 yes mean you should contact them so guess I am ok BTW massive congrats on 12 months mate!
