I must say now though that the lack of Paul McShane is appalling. FIFA should hang their heads in shame.
Why aren't there any translators, I don't speak Mexican. LMAO. YES I know it's Portuguese, just being a smart behind.
FIFA Team of the Year: Neuer Lahm Silva Ramos Alves Iniesta Xavi Ribery Ronaldo Ibrahimovic Messi Don't agree with Xavi to be honest. He's good, but this season there have been better.
Macca, I'm surprised about some of the selections. Seemed like a La Liga love fest. But what did impress me the most was Pele talking about everyone from the guys that cleaned the boots etc. I knew Pele was class, but he's on another planet when comes to class.
You certainly don't appear to have the objectivity of really good sportswriters like McIilvanney, McGhee and Glanville. Of course they didn't have qualifications in media studies and the like, just writing ability, sporting knowledge and were grown up and objective and even handed. Sports reporters report on things not their own childish prejudices.
Surely suarez was good enough last year to make the team? And Bale? It seems a really lazy selection to me, like they've just picked the biggest 11 names in world football.
Owen won the old Ballon D'Or that represented best player in Europe. David Beckham came second in the World Footballer of the Year that year (off memory I think Zidane won it).
**** off please? Get on with your own pissing life instead of critiquing mine. This is a free forum where people are allowed to air their opinions. Do you not get that? You are an idiot if you think there are journos out there who have no prejudices.
Beckham came second in the 1999 Ballon D'Or as well. He was second in 1999 and 2001 for the World Footballer of the Year. In the Ballon D'Or, Billy Wright came second in 1957, as did Charlton in 1967 and 1968, Moore in 1970, Keegan in 1977, Lineker in 1986 and Lampard in 2005.
