    Best of British IMHO.

House of Cards, the original not the pale US version. Absolutely riveting drama.

Q and later Monty Python, ground breaking comedy.

Fawlty Towers 12 slices of pure laugh out loud comedy.

The Office, the yanks didn't get the fact some of it was made to make you cringe as you laughed, and turned it into just another situation comedy.

    Any of David Attenborough's masterpieces.

Any of our period dramas the yanks just can't do them.

QI Stephen Fry at his best.

Over here NBC Sports are doing a pretty good job with the Premier League. Get to see nearly all the Sunderland games. Don't watch much TV....but if I need to destress after work it's Two and a Half Men (Charlie Sheen only) and Family Guy....probably says a lot about my mentality really...lol

Brass Eye managed to upset every one by pointing out how even celebrities can be duped into saying the stupidest things. Instead of considering what they were saying they just spout whatever was in front of them.
Latching onto any media caused frenzy.
Brilliantly written and presented by Chris Morris.

This episode got one hell of a lot of complaints.
Notably the Daily Star who had a right go at the show and the irony is on the same page had an article of 15 year old Charlotte Church with "Shes a big girl now!" and "looking chest swell" just the sort of s**t Brass Eye was pointing out about the media.

And this hilarious one on drugs.

Brass eye is genius fella, they're all incredibly daft. You can tell those who complained never actually watched as there's no way, as the viewing public, you can possibly take it seriously. Very funny, full of nieve celebs being showed up for the dumb arses they are, especially the MP David Amess who brought the CAKE drug problem up in parlament <laugh>

    He said

Mr. Amess: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action the Government propose in respect of the import of (a) khat, (b) gammahydroxybutyrate and (c) "cake" to the United Kingdom. [38968]

And how ironic, the furore surrounding Brass Eye pointing out the stupidity of people jumping on bandwagons.
And MP's were calling for it to be banned, when asked if they had actually seen it they all said no!
    Oh the irony!

Bernard Manning "One girl even threw up her own pelvis bone!" funniest thing that ever came out of his mouth and he didn't even know. hhahaha

One young kiddie on Cake cried all the water out of his body. Just imagine how his mother felt. It's a ****ing disgrace. <laugh>

Game of Thrones is a series based on the Song of Ice and Fire collection written by George R.R. Martin...It is basically built around a battle for power over current and historical claiments to what is known as the seven kingdoms, with a large dolop of fantasy thrown in...I'm an avid reader of the books which are well ahesad of the TV series, but still not finished, and the TV series has done a half decent job of keeping true to the books with one or two notable exceptions...Well worth watching mate if you get the chance..

Cheers mate but not my thing in that case.

I hate all those 'dungeons & dragons' efforts where they all use the same costumes from the last production.

None of the ****ers ever seem happy.

"Never mind this ****ing quest, let's get down the pub!"

Original star trek, Kojak, Starsky and hutch, the golden girls, police squad, Columbo (early episodes only). They could remake last of the summer wine over there and I see Joe pesci as Clegg, Robert de niro as Compo and Arnold swartzenneger as Foggy, Nora batty would be Joan Collins, with Hellen Mirren as the café owner and the mechanical bloke would be Jason statham.

If I had to answer just yes or no to the thread title I'd probably agree, but my favourite ones are usually British, especially with comedy. Americans are awful at comedy, with a couple of exceptions.

American remakes of Brit sitcoms are possibly the worst thing I've ever watched on television. The Inbetweeners one almost made me want to break my TV with a flying headbutt.

I do like a lot of their stuff though.

Imagine the Scouse reproduction of baywatch... 'Twokwatch'

    "He's drowning heeeeeeelp"

"Eyaaarr Barry laar goan grab his wallet an ees trainees".

You've just got to leave some things alone mate though, do you get what I'm saying?

I wouldn't want Knightrider remade into a brit show, some **** driving about in a Capri with a big spoiler on it just won't have the same effect, so the Yanks need to learn this.

Ricky Gervais is laughing all the way to the bank with The US Office, if he wasn't getting paid stupid money he'd have never let them have that franchise.

A lot of the actors in this are Brits, which is true of a number of US drama programs. I quite like Sons of Anarchy and a couple of the leads in that are Brits. So whether they are better or not at making programs might.be open to debate but clearly they fancy Brits over their home grown talent as actors for some reason
