I was gonna bite my tongue but what makes it harder is that the media refuse to acknowledge the issue both you and I have brought up. Yes, I think I have the right to delete what I consider needs deleting. It's what being a mod involves. But it's nowt to do with me being "pro-muslim" or something. If you make generalizations about a particular group (religious, ethnic, etc.) then that starts running the risk of being abusive. You can say that all terrorists are muslims, if it's factually correct, but you can't say all muslims are terrorists. There's a difference.
Difficult and emotive subject Sid, and I know you lot have your work cut out here lately. But........ Would it have been removed if he swapped the word Muslims, for gangs of white people? You wouldn't say "a gang of white people, though". It's being specific about some group or other. I agree that ethnic groups get a more sensitive treatment, but they also get the casual abuse that generaliztions promote. And yes it is my considered opinion (not personal "feelings") that I have to go on, being as they're the only thing I have to work with.
I can see Sid's viewpoint though Bri, saying 'all Muslims' nowadays is bound to upset somebody. One of your fellow posters has a Muslim wife and I'd imagine he gets quite offended by it, just like you do when Comm whips pictures up of the birds. Having said that, you're spot on as well, it's hypocritical that muppets are running riot on your board and nothing's being done about that, yet you lot are still being closely monitored. I didn't see 83's original post so I can't comment on what he's written, all I know is you've got to preamble the word Muslim nowadays with 'some' or 'extremist' or 'Jihadi'.
