Bristol City appoint Steve Cotterill as their new manager on a 3½-year deal.

Well Steve Clarke is actually on Gardening Leave, but the next set of leading runners in the sack race has to be thus :-

Zola @ Watford (5 straight home loses)

AVB @ Spurs. Daniel "The Hood" Levy is not one for messing about. He did not look happy yesterday.

Big Sam Lardyce @ West Ham. How much more before the Brady bunch do a Venky's and get rid ?

    Place your bets folks........................

West Ham, Cardiff and Norwich have had the same manager since last season so they must be due a change. Those above should be safe.

The good thing about all of these sackings is Steve Bruce must look at his job here as being pretty good and the temptation of going to a bigger club could be a poisoned chalice.

Looking at it from SB's perspective he's gone from being virtually on the scrapheap to his current position as a Premier League manager at a club where he is idolised by the fans, a team that looks like it could survive (and also looks like a good foundation to build on), an owner who is willing to back him with funds, his son is doing well at the club and he's close to his Geordie roots.

Why would he ever consider leaving?

Well 2 of the three have gone today. AVB was sacked and Zola quit.

Malky Mackay and Chris Hughton look more in danger than Big Sam but then again ALL 3 could be gone by the New Year the way this seasons sack race is going.

He wont. He knows that Dr Allam needs him and trusts him and nobody at the club will question him football wise.

For sure SB does not need the money either. Both Hull City and Steve Bruce are a nice fit for each other.

Allam needs no one but himself. He likes Bruce for now but you never know what'll happen.

Norwich winning at West Brom the other week probably gave Hughton a temporary reprieve at least. I reckon Sam a lard arse would be gone by now had Sunlan taken 1 of several chances they had on Saturday

True. Norwich go to Sunland this sat and Wet Span have an easy one @ Old Trafford. Lol.

Fulham home to Man City and Palace home to Newcastle. Dont see much changing with the bottom 3 at all.

I think SB will see his time with us to prove other wrong that he can build and keep an unfashionable club in the top flight, 2 fingers up to Sunderland.

    Could not agree more John.

Malky Mackay now ahead in the race. The Tan Man has pushed MM forward by all accounts.

Zola and Clarke to swap jobs if the media are correct ???

Chris Hughton now the odds on favourite to be the next PL manager to go.

Alan Pardew is down to 10/1 but his sacking could well happen in the summer.

Tim Sherwood will be sacked IF Spurs fail to finish in a CL top 4 place.

Chris Hughton looks like he is drinking at the last chance saloon this saturday reports suggest today. Not good for him when they play Tottenham @ home.

Alan Pardew is also reported to be going IF the Toon boys get beat for the 6th successive game @ home. Somehow i think that sacking will wait until the end as Newcastle are safe now.

Reports today that WBA manager Pepe Mel has jumped to the head of the Sack Race after the weekend.

Chris Hughton looks to have bought a little time after sunday and OGS is moving up on the rails.

But watch out for Pepe Mel. He could be the next winner.!!!!!

He's been there for 6 games for crying out loud!

Why is everyone in charge of a club insane?

Betting has now been suspended on Mel being sacked, it looks like he's a goner.

What the hell are these people playing at?

They'll get relegated if they don't watch out.

Money is the motivator. Taking a chance and staying in the premiership is seen as a risk worth taking.
