    Sorry but Rooney has quite a decent international record, 39 from 94? That's not too shabby considering Owen got 40 in 90, it's better than 1 in 3!

    Then if you want to hark back to say 2004.... Wasn't all our hopes pinned on him and a broken toe in the qf ended our hopes? And 2006 he had a metatarsal before and was unfit and missed.... Badly

    I have to say that when England have so FEW top players to be tearing one apart since before the finals is madness.... Mind you hodgson has him set up for failure
