Don't want to upset the locals too much oldnicky but I have to tell this about drafting. On my PO qualifying course we got a day trip to Centurion. One of the blokes on my course had just come back from his second accompanied the last one being in Naples for 2 years. He had been in about 3 years less than me. I had been on zero accompanied and we got to ask drafty a question. I asked the obvious one which was why 2 for him and none for me. Answer was I had not come to the top of the list yet. Slightly agrieved as you can imagine I sort of went off on one. I got invited into the drafting officer's office by him for "a chat". Not being a particularly shinking violet I went off on an even bigger one in there and despite the "pulling of rank" was not about to have that as being fair. Lets say I got invited to leave the office one step ahead of the Master-at-Arms being called. Finished the course and guess what. I magically came to the top of the list and was offered Gibraltar for 2 years. Border with Spain closed and a Captain I worked for being the worst man I have ever met to his office staff. Me and my big mouth. That was the last straw for me service wise and I left soon after. I never once got my drafting preference in 14 years.

I dislike Simon Walton more than any other player that I have seen in over thirty years of supporting Hull City, not only was he completely hopeless for us, but he managed to put Jay Jay Okocha out for the season with a reckless tackle, after Jay Jay rang rings round him in training.

Anyway, just popped on with a quick question, how's Will Atkinson getting on for you lads?

At the end of national service (deferred for 3 yrs to finish apprenticeship) when I went in, there was no chance of choosing a trade (unless you did 3yrs) and our trade training course knew we were either going to Aden or Guam (Pacific)............Accept for us deferred ones the Forces were now regulars.......which meant you got the dregs of everything........3months younger and i would have missed being called-up.

I'm surprised that Walton managed to catch Okocha.

Some you win, some you lose Sensible.

All these things going on behind closed doors, reminds me of something quite current and not a million miles away from Home Park!!!

    As always, best of luck

Atkinson's scored a couple of goals, but he's in a really struggling team low on confidence so it's difficult to judge really. He scored one cracking solo effort goal, but we've really gone downhill at a rate of knots this season again so he's not getting much of a chance to shine.

What happened to Peter Halmosi at Hull? He looked amazing at times for Argyle but didn't seem to get much of a run out at yours. I believe you paid a pretty penny for him too.

Walton didn't manage to catch Okocha, he just waited until he happened to be passing and gave him a swift kick in the knee!

Thanks for the update on Atkinson, I'm obviously aware that all is not well at your place at the moment, both on and off the field, I hope you manage to resolve both and get yourselves moving back up the leagues. I'm surprised Will is still a City player to be honest, his contract expired at the end of last season and we all expected he'd be gone, we can't understand why we gave him a one year deal, then immediately shipped him out on loan for that year. I'd say he's a decent League One player, but he's not really up to the Championship and he's definitely never going to be Premier League quality.

Peter Halmosi was an odd one, he was in the team when we started in the Premier League, but he looked a bit out of his depth and was dropped after about a dozen games. Every time he was given an opportunity after that, he looked like he couldn't care less, even when a new manager came in, he didn't look interested in trying in pre-season. He terminated his contract by mutual consent during the Jan window and is now back with his old club Szombathelyi Haladás in Hungary.

Good luck with everything, I hope you manage to get your new owner sorted(and that it's not Ridsdale) and you manage to get straight out of League Two. <ok>

Thanks for the support. Always thought that Hull were the sort of club we could aim to be, but things change pretty quickly! Halmosi had half a good season for us where he looked top class but you always got the impression he wasn't the type of player who would roll his sleeves up when the going got tough. At the time we had two other Hungarians in the team which probably helped him settle. The £1.75 million or so we got for him was daylight robbery as it turned out :bandit:
