The big question! Are they really? The IAEA report which was for the most part based on assumptions and fabrications is not a good guide to base your opinions on. But again, il get to that in the morning <ok>

Well I am a bit uncomfortable with the republican label. It has been soiled and stigmatised by the actions of the dissidents of late but I would be strongly nationalist.

As far as the current financial climte goes well both Britain and Ireland are seeing significant austerity measures. The North and South economies are not worlds apart in difference and both are in very slight growth. I always thought a unified Ireland would have allowed the island to operate better and more efficiently as an economic unit. The biggest pain in the arse would be the cost of living down south which is higher (except fuel) and greater at the current moment wh you consider the prformance of the Euro.
But very little has changed, a unified Island is still something I would long to see in mytime but done properly. There is no point is pissing of half the population of the north and starting up a whole new round of the troubles. It has to be an Ireland that evveryone will want to be a part of

Aye thats fair enough, unfortunately, I'd have to agree with the stigma attached to the Republican label as well. I come from a large Nationalist family based in and around Co. Armagh (my Mam moved from Portadown to Newcastle for Uni and then stayed) and would definitely have had more unifying beliefs before moving over here.

Now I'm not sure at all, it seems to me a lot of what is in the news, on Spotlight, or debated at Stormount is minor battles won and lost by people hankering after the days where their decisions were important. The Orange Order being banned from anything other than Protestant masses, where people can or can't walk, what should be on signs etc. Obviously I'm an outsider despite my heritage and my current location, but it just all seems a little bit petty to me.

    Breaking news...

Iranian embassy has been closed in London and all diplomats getting kicked out the country. We'll be at war this time next week.

    On a lighter note...

All remaining footballers are alive and well and accounted for.

    War with Iran has some usefull benefits;

Conscription is a certainty and I'm too old <cool>
Youth unemployment will soon be over as they'll all be getting killed in the desert.
If we win the nation will reap huge benefits as we'll plunder some of the worlds biggest oil fields.
If we're in danger of losing the Yanks can bail us out.
We can use Iran as a base to attack some other oil rich nation.

After you mudered a few, someone on here can make a thread about whether you should be considered a hero or villian when you return in a casket.

That whole area is just a wasteland.

I wish we had left the ****ers alone in the first place.

Iran and Pakistan are the pits. Both fund people who fight against us.

Maybe this will get our economy going!

The Iranian Government (and I use that word in it's loosest sense) were behind this, nothing happens in Iran that the Secret Service don't know about so it was at worst sanctioned or at best given tacit approval.

Nuking them is not the answer but if all governments removed their diplomats from Tehran then maybe the Iranians will get the idea that you don't allow mobs to sack embassies and threaten UK citizens.

I think the most damning thing I can say about this incident is that it's not exactly a surprise that Iaran would allow such a thing to happen, can you imagine that happening in this part of the world?
