thing I like about him is , he was played in pressure game s at the end of the season and done well ..he has the nerve and the heart . cant go wrong what ive seen from him is hes a tidy player that will give 100 %

Saylor takes a lot of stick from us, but he doesn't half know how to wind the mackems up and get under their skin. They still start spitting whenever he is mentioned and his quotes are still raised all these years later. They've never quite grasped he was toying with them. He may be an average centre back, but he knows the other part of playing for us

<laugh> Yep spitting as we laugh as his silly comments bite him on the arse <laugh>

What pees me of about Colback leaving is not that he has gone to Newcastle...it is the fact that he has gone for nothing.

I doubt either set of fans reckon he is due an England call-up. He is a decent squad player (scores very occasionally... some notable goals), one of his nicknames is 'passback', and the fact he has stayed in the area when he wanted a move says a lot about his ambitions and vision. His lack of foresight at the stick that will in due course be coming his way for his poor play from you lot and the stick he will take from some Sunderland fans for joining you lot, little ginge has not been very wise.

Poyet was calling for an England call up for him in February. <ok>

sunderland have done the same as every club in the country, offered the local lad thats been there years ,a contract that is way below what jonny foreigner has been given,he has went in, asked for a better deal ,not been given it ,so he has said **** you,and ran his contract down.As for signing him its not the most exciting thing that's ever happened in my life

We need players, so we sign one for free, what's wrong with that.

He's a local lad from Killy and from what I can gather wants to wear the Black & White shirt at SJP.
Someone who wants to play for NUFC, with arguably the best years of his career ahead of him, coming off a good season down the road.

An experienced PL player with a 100+ games behind him. A replacement for Gosling he may be seen by some, but, comparing the two is a laugh at best. Gosling was w*** pure and simple and played a dozen games in 3 years or something.

Maybe if his name was Jacques Colbackueax and had cost £10m it would have been better.

Denial can be an ugly thing. Every time he is mentioned in the vicinity of a mackem, the same lines are spat out in anger. "****ing cheating mag ****, none of our team would get in theirs etc etc" Same every time. Look today. A thread regarding the possible movement of Mr Colback across from dark side to light, and his wind up comments are posted. I think you just need to accept he knows how to piss off the mackems. The evidence is damning.

Exactly, the negativity is over the top. He is a good addition if coming (is it official?). We weren't alone in as Martinez fancied him at Everton, and West Ham were supposedly ready to offer silly money. If true you have one of the brightest managers in the country seeing something in him, you have Poyet who is being heavily praised from all corners not wanting to lose him and him willing to knock back a better contract down in London to play for us. I'd be worried if he is Cabaye's replacement. If he is Gosling's, I cannot understand why anyone would not welcome it. If we fail to do any further business he is still a good addition. I'd rather Colback than another ill judged Amalfitano not cut out for the league.

Here, here! Not a signing to set the pulses racing, but a very good squad acquisition all the same. I can't see how this can be regarded as a bad thing?! We are short of players - especially British ones with PL experience. I think it's a very positive transfer and that's not something we get to say very often anymore. Sure makes a change from the cloud of negativity that perpetually engulfs the club these days. Now for a Cabaye replacement and a couple strikers...:emoticon-0114-dull:

I thought the twitter death threats to Colback from a small handful of bitter Mackems were awful mind.
Hopefully the a Police will act swiftly.

Newcastle have signed midfielder Jack Colback on a free transfer from north-east rivals Sunderland.

Colback, 24, has agreed a long-term deal at St James' Park after his contract with the Black Cats expired.

"To come to the team I supported as a boy, my hometown team, will be really special for me," said Colback.

Sunderland trained Colback from the age of eight and say the move leaves "a bitter taste" as they could not recoup their "significant investment" in him.

He's quoted as saying he's always wanted to play in front of 50,000 fans week in week out as the pink seats were hurting his eyes.

I think we should nip in and sign the other Mag, Johnson too.
Won't cost too much I don't think.

I'm sure he will be the first name on your team sheet every game........and that says more about your squad than ours.

Decent signing and he will have some good games however consistency not his strong point.

I wish him good luck.

Have to be honest and say I'm really indifferent about the signing.
You lads seem to be split down the middle on the subject too.

****ing hell Albert is right on one. Back to back beeling <laugh>

I've seen the SMB Jozy picture, a year old but well done for remembering. But will you answer my question? Is all forgiven after the numerous incidents where he's mocked you? I take the lack of answers as a lack of self respect and that the answer is yes <laugh>
