I have them as probably 2nd in my list of finding them amusing. If you ever look at their fans on Twitter/forums they have this sort of mentality about us. Hate the Barcodes. Barcodes are deluded. Barcodes are entitled. Barcodes are not a big club. Barcodes have unrealistic expectations. We are a much bigger club than the Barcodes. Why do the Barcodes get so much media attention? Hate the love in the media has with the Barcodes fans. Gerrard turned them down for us. Coutinho turned them down for us. Carlos turned them down for us. Kamara turned them down for us. Emery turned them down for us. Can't quite put my finger on it but they sound very much like a another set of fans. The reality is, out of the entire Aston Villa infrastructure I would take one player from them and that would be Alisha Lehmann from the lasses team
Really? They're doing that? AHAHAHAHAHHA! It's always surprised me why they've always had so much of an axe to grind with us, presumably cos Birmingham have never been any real rival to them, and us under Ashley were in a similar position to them as constant underachievers. Apart from under Atkinson in the early 90s and a very brief period under Martin O Neil, they've always just made up the numbers in the Prem. Oh I do hope we slaughter those bitchy little claret and blues.
For me, it all started with their laughing, waving and pretend crying when we were relegated at their place. And then their reaction afterwards. I seem to recall they had a few absolute crazies on the old BBC606 board back in the day. Since then I can't stand them. I'm sure other clubs might have done the same to us, but lots of Villa fans showed their true colours during that period. Vile.
Yeah it was all unnecessarily ****y, they'd be a bit of jeering at any place, but going out of their way - like having a "who's your next saviour Ant or Dec"* banner pre prepared to unveil if we lost, staying behind at the end to mock us for ages... it was all unnecessarily sadistic coming from a team we'd never really had a rivalry with. *seeing as they asked, our next saviour was Jack Grealish, who helpfully scored the Villa goal that equalised at Brighton, and gave us the title.
@Hung,Drawn and Quartered what do you make of this line-up of officials for the Villa game? Referee: Paul Tierney Assistant referees: Constantine Hatzidakis Neil Davies Fourth official: Ben Toner VAR: Tony Harrington Assistant VAR: Dan Cook
For a moment, I thought that dogshit "youth prospect" from years ago had given up football and not into officiating, but then I realised it was Ben Toner not Ben Tozer...
First time this season and first game involving us since January this year whilst reffing Leeds at least 4 times in the same period
What? I would never stir like that. I mean, if I were that kind of stirrer then I would also point out to DPP that Shelvey is now only 2 appearances away from triggering an automatic contract extension. But I won't because I'm not like that.
Not losing my title this easy so I raise you explaining to Roly that Chris Wood's job is not to score goals but to see games out
Villa are n longer a rival. They are a team in the division and we will use them to farm points each year. Like the mackems they will slowly realise their station and it will hurt, really bad. In the meantime we hoover up the points and quench our thirst on their salty tears. I predict Emry will be gone by the end of 2023.
In years to come Dick Emry will be brought up time and again and laughed at as the one who turned us down...the blind fool
