And Almiron had improved at the back end of last season but it's become clearer this season as the outcomes are there for all to see. It's this which makes me look at players like Schar (who has been fantastic this season), Longstaff and Willock (who are both now playing towards the levels we knew they were capable of but with Longstaff in particular has just not consistently seen) and even Murphy (who in the last month has actually been performing like a mid-table Premiership lvl player rather than a poor Championship one) and think our squad isn't as terrible as all that. In truth, Hoew is just getting much more out of these players than I could have hoped for.

A lot of credit has to be given to the work ethic shown by the players since Howe arrived. The increase in fitness is key to everything we are doing.
Add in Howe's tactical setup and for the 1st time in forever, teams are having to modify their game to cope with ours rather than us being scared of the opposition

when you listen to Villa fans talking on their VLOGS and things like that most of them say
the level of fitness Newcastle players had was miles above their players levels

You'd have thought that fitness would have been right up there as a priority for Gerrard though. He rarely missed a game that I remember and always played 90 mins.

The difference may be that we win back so much possession these days in the final third that we don't have to track back anywhere near as much as we used to. Once again showing Howe's tactics shining through

Based on last few games, looks like Murphy is the next one to benefit from being Howe'd

In all my time(long) following this club I've never seen us have a defence this good. It's always been our week link. No longer! Arsenal are bound to **** up eventually, City are vulnerable, Spurs are Spursy and Chelsea are weak this season.

    Champions Champions Champions!!<cheers>
