In those conditions it’s fair enough to punch. It actually was an okay punch but Gordon was asleep and allowed the player to get goal side of him when he shouldn’t.
No mate. You’re wrong this time. He should have caught it. Bread and butter for any goalkeeper. If you think otherwise you’re just being sympathetic. It was a horror mistake. Everyone knows he should have just caught it. I am losing confidence in him. He was at fault for their first goal aswell. He was in no man’s land.
First goal was Trippiers fault. Made it far too easy for centre back. 2nd goal was Gordon’s. In my opinion.
No, Ponytail pointed out on another thread that the Manc is losing his eyesight due to old age. You have to have sympathy.
Trippier got over powered. Second goal 100% Pope. Catch the ball. Under no pressure. If he can’t catch a ball. He shouldn’t be a GK. That’s going down as the worst clanger this season.
If Pep was our manager that team today would have been: Pope Livramento Schar Lascelles Targett Joelinton Bruno Longstaff Almiron/Gordon Wilson Hall With a 60 min sub for Willock / Gordon or Almiron coming on to give us energy and trippier towards the last 15/20. We’re a team, not a squad. That’s why we never rotate.
Trippier or burn being injured.. it's nice t9 have cover and just because it hasn't been needed yet doesn't mean it wasn't required to buy them. It'll take another couple of years and Newcastle will be really pushing the top sides regularly.
Schar man of the match for me. Wilson scored 2, which is very welcome, but let's be honest, he was terrible in general play, he lost the ball nearly every time he got it. Bruno was quality first half, then lost the ball in dangerous areas second half.
Football teams don't always win and there's another level ahead of Newcastle and plenty below. I'm liking what I'm seeing and it's clear they're 3 or 4 top players away from competing for trophies. This season for me is about consolidating the clubs position in the top 8.
All this crap about progression is nonsense because the club has progressed on every front possible. League position isn't the full picture where progression is concerned. It's a business and it's growing. It's not just about this season.
What has that have to do with the failings made in this game by EH? He should have made changes to our exhausted first team. You bang on about SB doing as well as the “great” Rafa but EH is a lot like SB in not having a plan B. He clearly doesn’t rate or trust the players outside of the first 11 which suggests we have screwed up in the transfer market
