Play your signings and try and get a pattern of play going for next season, if you intend to fight on. Continuing to do what you have done this season, is not going to change the direction you have got us going in.

Sound advice. Play Elanga and Wissa. Sure everyone on here will agree with that.

Saturday 2nd May @3pm

If I was manager this would be my team:

Pope
Miley. Thiaw. Botman. Hall.
Bruno. Tonali.
Osula. Woltemade. Gordon.
Wissa.

Easy win this one
Why you going with 4 forwards and 2 midfielders?

We need Joelinton back in there, he'll be available for this one. Get Wissa outta there, but start Nick.

We can win this.

I'd be half tempted with a 3-5-2
Pope / Ramsdale (really doesn't matter which one at this point)

Thiaw
Botman
Burn

Miley
Ramsey
Bruno
Tonali
Hall

Woltemade
Osula

Something a bit different and avoids the need for our ineffective wing players

If we are going for a back 5 and with Miley as RB I'd replace Ramsey with Gordon and make it a 3-4-3 with Osula going to the right, Gordon to the left and Woltemade able to drop in to a 10 as and when needed

Won 2 of the last 18 against Brighton, 17 of those games in the premier league, if there was a game to turn that form around…

Rambo
Thiaw-Botman-Burn
Trippier-Bruno-Tonali-Hall
Woltemade
Osula-Wissa

Jesus christ, that is a shocking statistic. These and Bournemouth our new boogey teams. If a front three of Wissa, Wolt and Osula can't score then there is no hope.

Miley's passing is immense
Trust me I think he's great and probably will be better than Trippier has been but for me Trippier is more positive (forward passing) at present. Bear in mind Tripps has played less EPL games than Miley and some of Miley's games come in CM (higher up the pitch) and Trippier has nearly twice the successful passes into the final third this season. With Osula and Wissa playing up top in my formation (that's NEVER going to happen) making fictious runs in behind the CB's and FB's for passes in behind, I'd pick Tripps in my set up.

Miley
  • Passing Accuracy: He holds a passing accuracy of 85% to 90% in Premier League and European play.
  • Final Third Passes: Miley has completed 142 passes into the final third.
Trippier
  • Total Passes: 963 total passes, with 834 completed (86% accuracy).
  • Final Third Passing: He has achieved 267 successful passes into the final third.

Trippier takes all the set pieces.
Trippier is awful now at defending. Literally every match day thread posters bemoan the quality of Trippiers passing. Even the cult acknowledge this as does Charlie

Are we suggesting he's taken 125 successful freekicks **into** the final third - i.e. from anywhere behind the final third? I think you get my point, backed by the stats, but I respect your opinion teach and wouldn't have a problem with Miley playing in that role <ok>

Some lovely ideas, I applaud the creativity....no, the audacity to throw these crazy ideas out (two strikers?!?! are you MAD?), but let's be realistic. Everyone needs to start again by picking four defenders, three midfielders (or put a centre forward in there if you want) and three forwards (or stick some midfielders in if you fancy it).
