Ashley doesn't care about us enough to go to the effort.

Tend to agree, I'm braced for a very difficult and long season.

A few things that don't add up. The squad is at bare bones, we should be moving players on, like Colback, Aarons, Saviet etc, we should have appointed a manager by now and we should be bringing players in.

Is it at all possible that ashley didnt want to sell, but recent developments have esculated the urgency and now convinced him to sell the club?

just over 5 weeks until transfer window closes and the season starts. A trip to China adding a massive molehill in the middle of that too. Preperations for the season could not have been worse and the cost of leaving it late will only inflate player prices. Teams will use our state of urgency against us in order to increase prices.

the squad is really weak, I've highlighted players I think we need to move on

    Goalkeepers: Darlow, Elliot, Harker, Dubravka
Defenders: Clark, Fernandez, Lascelles, Lazaar, Manquillo, Schar, Sterry
Midfielders: Aarons, Colback, Hayden, Ki, Murphy, Ritchie, Shelvey
    Strikers: Gayle, Joselu, Muto

    Internationals: Almiron, Saivet, Woodman
    Injured: Atsu
Fitness tbc: Dummett, Lejeune, Longstaff, Yedlin

I count 12 player we would keep that would count as our 25 registered PL players, woodman, harker, Lonmgstaff would not be included due to their age. Meaning we would need around 10-13 signings to have a squad of 25.

a £50m budget signing 13 players means around £3.7m per player transfer, looks promising

For those who think the takeover is a load of bollox:

Why has the £1.7M deal for Joselu stalled over legal obligations for 3 weeks yet the £30M transfer happens within 48 hours?

Also NUFC have confirmed it was a buy out clause that was met and paid.

It is still under discussion. Those discussions appear to be difficult. We are in limbo until it happens or collapses. The new season is approaching like a cliff edge. If nothing is agreed, disaster looks certain.

We are the football version of Brexit.

Is that official. That the Joselu deal is stalled because of legal issues?

Also there has been no official statement by the club other than no comment.

The Pérez deal I accept as it hits a release clause.

I just don’t remember a takeover in history that has been revealed and taken so long to actually happen. Usually it’s in the press and within a couple of days it’s public and official.

I'm no Chippy but there was a twitter post from Alaves saying it was delayed due to "legal obligations"

Now that Perez has been sold, I'm thinking it's much less likely we're being sold.

The Valley of death has begun. I'm done.

The opposite in my opinion. It was a buy out clause being met. Look at the Joselu transfer, currently delayed
