All managers try out youngsters who don't quite make the grade, SAF included. I could reel off quite a list he has tried and discarded. The difference is he then persuades his chairman to go out and buy the players until the next batch are ready to try or has already done so. To be fair it is a lot easier to blood young players on Man U's team than it is for a team like Newcastle. Villa are a good example. They've struggled badly but have stuck at it.

We do lack a bit of quality in the youth ranks but I want us to keep trying youngsters out. Years have gone by with us ignoring this, its sickening. If we are just going to give up at the first hurdle we might aswell just not bother with a youth system. Its actually one of Pardews best attributes. He likes to give young players a chance and has a history of using youth systems. He has seen plenty good ones too having been at West Ham, Palace and Southampton.

Its a tough balancing act but I hope we keep trying to involve young players. Its funny when things were going well, everyone was happy we were giving young players a chance. Now a couple have been found out, Pardew hasn't got a clue. It all seems a bit fickle to me. Keep blooding them for me and keep investing in the youth systems. Players are more likely to sign up with the youth system if we become recognised as a club who give young players a chance.

He's quality but we wouldn't pay the money, he probably wouldn't regard Newcastle as a step up and would have better options than us. I think you should sell us Forrest too.
