I know that was a totally demoralising humiliation for Newcastle but they need to pull themselves up off the floor. They still have to play a lot of our relegation rivals and we need all the help we can get. The Mags are home to Villa, Palace, Swansea & Cardiff. They have Hull, Fulham & Stoke away. I'll stomach wins against any of them tbh.
For once that Geordie numpty actually is spot on. Worrying thing for Newcastle is our dominance of a fixture we've struggled in for the previous 10 to 15 years. Unbeaten in 5 fixtures now with 3 wins out of 3 (the latest one being the easiest) in the 2 seasons we've struggled and changed our manager 3 times in a year. How much better can we get once Gus has more time to set up his own team? These things go in cycles but to be honest I am confident we have more wins in us.
It's dead simple, We never played our best because we didn't need to, we never got out of first gear. Pardew said you need to 'go back to basics' yada yada yada. Pardew got it wrong from the off. He needs to take responsibility which I notice he didn't. It really is as simple as Pardew got it wrong.
