Garcia and Stewart are both ahead of schedule. Macca's due to resume training next week. Even Oli's been around the training ground this week.
I would like to see Simmo back here, but as he is back home in London he may well settle back down there and getting him to come back up here should he perform well might be a struggle. I hope i'm wrong, but if homesickness was an issue for him and/or his family we may well have seen the last of him. I know Jay wasn't everyone's cup of tea but we started to see the signs of a good striker from Christmas onwards, it's a shame if it doesn't work out. Though we have got a more than capable replacement in Waghorn it seems.
i reckon the latter, ie ...homesickness was an issue for him and/or his family we may well have seen the last of him
Waghorns a better player for me than Simpson and will offer more than just goal-poaching he has a good technique and gets involved in build-up play, a lot of the games I saw Simpson in he contributed nothing really.
A lot of how well a player plays at a club (given a certain level of ability) is to do with a multitude of factors that together make an environment where that player is or is not ablie to perform to the best of his ability. For example, Jay Simpson is a London lad, it was well documented that he and his family struggled to settle in East Yorkshire and he has already said the move to Millwall is to him like going home. If he does well in London and come January has scored 15 goals, if we keep him the reasons for him failing at HCFC still remain. This would also apply to whether he gets on with the Manager, or the coaching staff, whether he is supported by the fans, whether he gets on with his team mates, whether his style is suited to the style of football played here etc etc etc. All these things will remain. Unless you are a young player going out to a lower league club, players coming back from loans rarely happens. This is why I expect Simpson to do well at Meewaaw and sign permanently in Jan, just like I expect us to sign Foghorn in Jan.
On his Twitter Cam Stewart denied he was ahead of schedule and that he expected it to take the full 9 months.
not sure that is good news. how many of them, Stewart excluded will get a regular start or even a part in the squad.
Then Waghorn goes back to Leicester and Milwall don't get Simpson. SIMPLES as a well known meerkat would say
