I would offer him the same but say he will have to fight for his place but really meaning were going to bring in 2 new CBs because we have no one without Ferdy and Hill.
Why would we get rid of the fans' and players' player of the year without needing to? He's an inspirational person and surely does more good in any capacity than bad. Sparky will be well aware of his age and I'm sure another CB is on the horizon (even if he wants to play Onouha in his preferred role) but that said Hill has leadership and passion and would always do a job if needed. Sign him up for another couple of years and get the guy on his coaching courses while keeping him firmly mixed in with the first team. We might also need him if we can't bed the next defensive partnership in (like all the ones we tried this year) - I'm sure a proper pre season will avoid it but we always have the Ferdinand-Hill combination, that definitely does work to, to fall back on.
By Jacob Murtagh May 16 2012 please log in to view this image CLINT Hill is ready to snub a move to Leeds United to stay at QPR. The versatile defender is out of contract in the summer, but is in preliminary talks over a new deal in W12 after an impressive second half of the season. Hill's QPR career looked over when he was shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest earlier in the year, but he played a major part in the R's survival bid under Mark Hughes. The 33-year-old's exploits earned him the player of the year prize at Loftus Road, and boss Hughes wants to reward him with an extension. Former Rangers manager Neil Warnock is keen to bring Hill to Elland Road, but the former Tranmere trainee wants to stay at the Premier League club. http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2012/05/16/leeds-united-set-to-lose-out-on-qpr-target-82029-30981123/?
Warnock's treatment of Hill was shocking really. Not to mention that he played him out of position for 18 months. Can't see why he would want to link up with him again - at 33 if he gets to be a squad player in a PL set up for a couple of years he should be well set for retirement.
It were Colin brought Clint all the way, all the way to QPR and to the PL, twice! Colin thought he was the man, FFS even his Missus said Clint was the best thing since pork sausages, and she oughta know. Colin even let him Clint go and play in the Forest when he needed some play time, and the wife needed a rest. Clint is a top LB, as well as top CB. Should be in the England squad instead of Terry.
Derry and Hill are brilliant for us. I hope we keep them on at the club in some capacity when they decide to hang up their boots.
Brilliant news if he stays. I will be over the moon. Meeting him at the sponsors evening was brilliant, and to have the POTY's boots is even better! Top bloke, and has been awsome this season. Sign him up!
