I did qualify the never if anyone bothered to read the post. This is a great opportunity that has to be taken. If we get into Europe next season(very likely) then it will be more difficult. Just coming 2nd-4th or even 5-6, makes a significant difference to the premiership chances.

How many teams in last 10 years have won the league without being in an European competition?

It's the best chance we've had for a while, and a better chance to build for the future than the Suarez season. Back then we were inspired by one player, whereas now it's a more balanced team effort.
The first one (Premiership title before anyone jumps on me) is always the hardest. Once we do it, then that psychological barrier will be lifted and we should then be challenging on a regular basis.

we can only go with the trend. If you want to look at the last three years, then 1 in 3. If 2 years then 1 in 2. If 10 years (too far back) then 1in 10 ;)

And my prediction is that it will be 2 in 2 :)

True, can't disagree with the possibility of it being 2 in 2.

To me, what Leicester did was incredible with little resources. It shows that premiership crown can go to anyone with determination and consistency.
Now, it's no longer a crown reserved for the big boys. Gone are the days when Manchester United win it year in year out. Liverpool went to Burnley thinking that they are going to be work over and they thought us some football lessons. Before the end of the season big clubs taking on smaller
ones are going to see surprises. You have not seen anything yet !.

<yikes>

I don't think we need to buy in January and don't think Klopp will either. The Jan window is always nuts and we have a good squad that doesn't need disrupting.

Agger, Mascherano, Skrtel and, of course, Luis Suarez all signed in January <whistle>

Good players are unlikely to be released exempt with the following exceptions:
1. His club out of Europe or major cup competitions.
2. Club is hard up.
3. The price offer cannot be refused.
4.Another player is available as replacement.

Tbh there are still 4/5 teams in the hunt.

Lots of variables as Spurs and City could drop out of Europe, injuries etc

We'll lose Mane for a bit in January and the FA have left our fixtures to the mercy of television (two games in 45 hours?)

We could be 5th by Sunday night couldn't we? Lets just enjoy it and look at a title run if we're still there by NYE.

In theory. Realistically there are only 3. City , Chelsea and us. Arsenal and Spurs will drop off in pressure matches at the end of the season. Both City and Chelsea are looking ominous. City as they have the strongest sqaud and Chelsea because like us they have fewer matches.

I wouldn't write off Arsenal or Spurs at all...........Arsenal are perennial top four and are as good as they have been for some time

Spurs unbeaten and showed last season they have the consistency needed for the long haul

Spurs are likely to lose to Chelsea this weekend or get a draw.

I would. Arsenal have been in this position for the last 10 years and have never threaten to win it. As for Spurs, although undefeated they draw too many matches. As for top 4 it is already looking like City, Chelsea, Arsenal and us in no particular order.

As long as were in that top 4..........no...........top 3......then good progress will have been made and we can build from there <ok>
