...simulation for me would have been where there was no contact ... there was contact ... no penalty ... but no yellow either ... Moss would not have been the first ref to have avoided giving a yellow when it means a sending off ...

 

Vardy initiated the contact by leaning into the defender. It then looks like as soon as he felt any contact he went into his swan dive. It looked an obvious dive at the time, and looks even more so every time I view it.

If Vardy had learnt to dive more convincingly, he might have put a doubt in Moss's mind and got away with it.

 

Why? Is this not a dive, then?

Anywhere else on the pitch Young would stride through that challenge without falling over (well maybe not, as it's Young).

You do realise that contact does not equal a foul, don't you? That's leaving aside the fact that Young initiates the contact.

I'll be surprised if anybody at all agrees with you on this one, to be honest. Let's see if I'm proved wrong.

PNP what has happened with the Roofer is that he nailed his colours to the 'fairytale' mast. He will not accept anything else, regardless of what you prove. Or maybe he is an ex roofer because he fell off too many times and the resulting injuries have affected his thinking.
