It's a dive because he intentionally initiates contact and goes down as if he's been fouled.
He's trying to con the ref.

I'd agree that his first yellow was extremely harsh - probably incorrect. However, already being on a yellow, why do something as blatant and stupid as that dive?

He got what he asked for, I don't have much sympathy, I'm afraid.

Yes, I've tried to explain this to him too. But it doesn't seem that we're going to agree.

Maybe for neutrals who see it as a plus for Spurs. I would take your grievance seriously if it was consistent. You have decided that Costa deserved an extra game ban but Vardy does not. Yet it's for the same offence.

No we shouldn't leave it well alone. He deserves a ban and he is getting one. I honestly don't see you or anyone else fighting this battle if it was a Spurs player. Then you would be telling us that the inconsistency and talking points created in the game by bad decisions is what makes this game beautiful and not **** like Rugby, that is what you said after all.

I couldn't give a flying **** if he was robbed, cheated etc etc. **** all to do with Spurs. He's not the first to be pulled up for something many get away with and he won't be the last. Everyone is up in arms because it could get in the way of the fairytale.

I'm not of the belief like many that contact = foul but if there is significant contact, even if it's initiated by Vardy, and he therefore goes down, I don't think the rules are clear enough to warrant a yellow. Perhaps a free kick if it's interpreted as Vardy fouling the defender but not enough on its own for a yellow I'd have thought. I'd like to see the rule clarified.

Rightly so. I like the fairytale.

I also don't like the prospect of half the people I know crowing about a Spurs title win for the rest of time. They're insufferable enough at the thought of finishing above a bang average Arsenal team.

That's fine but your up in arms is flawed. That's my point. Your entitled to support the fairytale.

Finishing above Arsenal is a passing thought...much milked because the Gooners fume.

I wouldn't say I'm up in arms. It's annoying because it's incredibly inconsistent both to book him in that situation and then punish him further possibly for what happened after.

Not a particularly related point but the crying by Spurs fans on Twatter that somehow led to the referees being switched over the weekend wasn't right either. Nor the best referees being rested ahead of a fitness test for Euro 2016.

It was right. Even ex ref Dermot Gallagher says in the context of things it was the right call and I see his point.

The only thing I find inconsistent is that all the fans who are bemoaning Vardy's 'luck' had nothing to say about Costa suffering the same fate earlier in the season. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if most of the 'neutral' fans probably think he deserved it because he is a ****.

The only consistent people here are Spurs fans who think both Costa and Vardy are a set of ****s and got what they deserved.

Vardy played for it it's true ... but why had the defender got his hand on Vardy's shoulder prior to the leg tangle ... you don't think he might have been impeding a quicker player by an action that constitutes 'foul' play? ... roll out the 'that goes on all the time" argument... it does ... and on some occasions gets punished by a free kick ... because it is actually against the rules. ... just saying. ... :)

That hand on shoulder was barely any contact and as for hand on shoulder it happens all the time with defenders. You should know having morgan and huth in defence :p. Please stop crying because vardy dived ashley young style. Still hope you guys do it but if theres any victim here its the ref being pillared for having the bottle to correctly send Vardy off

Nice to see neutrals sticking up for us but in my opinion, Vardy dived and got what he deserved. His reaction after was also stupid. Whether the first booking should have been, probably not but once it's given, to do what he did was stupid and he has cost both his team the title and on a personal note possible the golden boot (although I expect Kane for that).
Either way it has won Spurs the title but a title that will be tinged slightly as the deciding factor will be this incident not the football which is a point some others were making

Can we all still comparing to Costa who's a 45 year old ex pro who should have retired many years ago, he's also a horrible ****er that nobody likes and so deserves harsh punishment as per the Suarez law.

JTF, I agree that Vardy was stupid. It was a blatant dive and to do that when you've already been booked isn't too clever. However, you're still 5 points ahead of us with 4 games to go, so you're very much in the driving seat still.

We will do our best to push you all the way, but it's your title to lose.

... you've missed my point .. yet proved it... a hand on a shoulder is still a foul ... .. there is no need to do it ... yet you have become the arbiter of how much of a foul constitutes a foul ... and therein lies the real problem. ... as to crying ... most Leicester fans accept that it was not a penalty. ... but I don't believe it merited a second yellow. .. if a player is quicker and has the ball he is entitled to run across a chasing player ...

.. :) ... Spurs fans are consistent ... can't remember a single one actually admitting that the pen given to you at Man City should never have been given ... ... if it had been Alli facing a ban for similar there would be an outcry from you Spuds ... a consistent one mind ...

All this whining doesn't come across very well. Facts are Vardy dived. It wasn't even a very convincing dive - let's face it, even a twat like Moss spotted it. From Vardy & Leicester's point of view, it was a stupid thing to do when you've already been booked.

Some decisions go your way, some don't. But if Vardy is going to carry on diving, he needs to put some practice in to make them a bit more convincing.
