I'm not saying we don't need to buy someone, we do, that's a given. I just think some of the criticism of Fonte is a bit harsh.
We need a CB. Nigel Adkins has said as much and the club will be working to sign one. Not much to discuss here. As for Fonte and Hooiveld - keep the faith. They're not perfect, but they're both decent in the air and on the floor.
Anybody worried by us not signing a centre back is as bad as those worrying about GB winning a gold at the olympics...
As I said, i'm only going to be worried if we don't have one by the time I go to bed tomorrow. Wiggins in the time trial is about as nailed on for a gold as you can get (and if he lets us down I think we've also got some nailed on chances in the rowing as well).
Fonte is prem class but prone to the odd mistake like anyone. We need competition for those positions thats all.
Now I understand our style of play will be different this year but I did notice against Middelsborough and Reading whenever they were in our half I was quaking with fear and we were undoubtedly shakey. If Jason Roberts can do this Players like Aguero and Cisse will wreak havoc.
How do you know who is Prem class or who isn't?. Most of our players haven't played in the Prem and if they have they haven't been doing so for a long time.
Sometimes you just know. Holt is clearly prem class. Lambert > Holt. In my view that makes Lambert a prem class player.
I think Jos Hooverbag and Jose are a pretty good pairing. They might both get done for pace occasionally, but they won't be caught out of possesion. We looked shaky at the back last season because the CBs were left exposed by the FBs, imo. Yes, we need back up, but I'm really not bothered. Godders, are you Corporal Jones in disguise?
I really hope we don't sign Scott Dann or Roger Johnson. They've been relegated twice now, for two consecutive seasons, we don't need another Nigel Quashie!
Very true. We have Ryan Dickson and Jonathan Forte who have been promoted twice in two seasons, so we're fine there! Why on earth did we get rid of Tommy Forecast who got promoted twice in two seasons, he's clearly incredible. Oh wait - this logic is stupid.
The sooner we get a CB the better I'll feel. CB is too important to start the season without a CB who knows the players around him otherwise we end up hoofing it which is not what we need.
