Wilkes doesn't seem to know what his role is (neither do I).

The pen wasn't a pen but we got away with one a few mins earlier. I felt we matched them.

A cliche, but a draw would have been a fair result today. Almost certain that penalty would have been overturned if there had been VAR. On the other hand other transgressions which were missed might have been noticed if there was.

Awful decision for that penalty. Absolutely awful. No wonder Grant was booked.

Wilks managed to foul Magennis today which was something new.

They were the better team but not by much.

It was a fair result but it wasn't a penalty.

Not too upset to be honest and I usually am when we get beat. If we play at that standard we won't be relegated.

    Magennis isn't good enough.

Wilks could be but he needs someone to help him with his football intelligence.

Longman had a poor game - it happens.

Bernard is inexperienced so he'll make mistakes - which cost us big time today but overall I'm happy to have him in the team.

Honeyman is such an improved player from the headless chicken of our last relegation season.

Docherty is looking a player and a half at the moment.

KL-P will be a top, top larker. He isn't currently, he needs to go to a Premier League team who'll coach him better and play him with better players (obviously).

Eaves and Smith aren't at the standard we need.

Bottom line, we need more quality up front.

Agree with all of this. Our forward two at the moment look lost. Magennis grafts but isn’t good enough for this level, same as Eaves. Wilks just doesn’t look like he knows what his role in the team is. Is he a striker, a winger, who knows? Even he doesn’t. Shame because I think with the right guidance, he could be a good player.

I think KLP would thrive in a front two. I’m surprised McCann hasn’t tried it yet.

Watched it on YouTube just now, never a penalty.

Regarding Longman, I think he plays better on the left than the right. He likes to cut inside. He looked unsure of himself when he had to hug the touchline and try and put a cross in.

I think the only way that would happen if both Magennis and Eaves were injured and he was forced into it... as has been the case with formation...

    All of this.

Though maybe we should give Smith a couple of starts to be sure.

Been out with the kids today so not seen the game, have seen the penalty.......can't really complain after Reading can we? And have seen our goal......wowsers.....genuinely one of the best technical goals i've seen us score in a long time, the ball from McLoghlin is the kind of thing that TAA or alike plays and they spend 5 mins on MOTD jacking off over it, KLP's first touch, absolutely sublime, sets himself then whack, keeper doesn't even move. Wouldn't have looked out of place in any game at any level that goal, top stuff from the pair of them.

I agree, on the left he has 2 genuine options when running at the defenders, cuts inside and goes outside too, but on the right i've noticed the same, that he looks a bit 1 dimnesional, I also think the same of KLP (but the other way round) - when he has ball at his feet, on the right he goes outside or inside, but on the left only ever seems to go inside and becomes one dimensional

Agreed. KLP looks more dangerous in the right than the left. On the left, he cuts inside but defenders by now know how to contain him when he does that. When he plays on the right, he wriggles past defenders and they can’t predict which way he’s going to turn. He’s created some great chances on the right by turning defenders inside-out and dinking a cross in.

Really don’t understand why Grant would change an unbroken thing by making KLP and Longman switch wings today.

No, but best of luck to Del Boy. Always liked him as a fighter. I’ll watch the highlights tomorrow.

We seemed intent on turning to face our own goal every time we won possession. It stopped a lot of opportunities to attack before they even started. Why Longman let that ball go for a corner that never was instead of playing a ball in a lethal position I’ll never know. Can’t think of a single header we won in their box. KLP is our bright light again. He can’t do it all on his own though.

I agree, but it worked ok for our goal. I suspect they wanted KLP up against Spence, who’s a good player but suspect defensively.
