Oh well. Dodgy penalty goes against our way after riding our luck during our winning streak and some defensive naïvety cost us another goal. Can’t really get too annoyed but disappointed nonetheless.
Really unlucky, away to a team that’s unbeaten in 8 and we more than matched them. I think had that poor decision not handed them a goal we would have easily won that. Never feel bad when decisions go for us because it won’t be long until a shocker like that comes around and evens it up!
Hard done by there, poor 2nd goal to give away, but it wasn't a penalty IMO, Honeyman got the ball, and the guy went over on his ankle.
Unlucky not to get a point. Gave it a real go but beaten by a dodgy penalty, a piece of sloppy defending and a card happy referee. Going to be difficult games over Christmas but I think we have enough in this team (with a couple of additions in January ) to stay up.
As hard as we fought it was hard to see where another goal was coming from, highlights our lack of striking options, again. Thought we deserved a point though if only for scoring a proper goal, ie not a non-penalty or a bit of comic defending.
Well I also thought the pen should have been a free kick for a foul on Honeyman. Wilks certainly got away with a clumsy shirt pull minutes before though. It was an even game overall and if City can keep this level of performance up they'll definitely move up the table.
As many shots, as many onntarget, same amount of corners. But more fouls committed by us and more yellow cards so surely we were the rightful winners? "The stats can tell fibs – but they don't lie" CLIVE TYLDESLEY
The penalty looked ridiculous. We probably got a point because of the ref at Reading but think we've had 2 potential wins converted to draws in the last 2 games because of poor decisions. Having said which, Wilks has been fouling players in our area from set pieces for a season and a half now so we may have reaped what he sowed on that if the ref was evening things up.
Disappointing to get done by a pen that never was and one bit of poor defending. As others said before, we no longer look anything like a relegation team ..... but not quite good enough to push on .... especially up front. T Smith looks lost and we know the others aren't really good enough, bar KLP who should be playing as a striker..
Don't think we did enough going forward to deserve anything out of that. Possibly being harsh. Also from the City end it looked like a penalty, but would have to see it again and I can't be arsed!
I think Smith could be useful if he got the ball in space, but the problem is he really seems to have no idea what he's doing so he rarely makes runs into spaces where he might get the ball, he needs to watch KLP for some lessons. Magennis/Wilks was the main problem today, without any quality in the front 2 we can't hang on to the ball, and even if they get hold of it it's a lottery whether they'll manage to pass to someone in the same coloured shirt. Hope the new DOF was taking copious notes today.
Watched at home. It 100% wasn't a pen. Might have looked like it in real time but play backs showed it absolutey wasn't. ''Funny' listening to home commentary .... they went totally quiet about it
It is a bit harsh I think. First half they were all over us but we defended manfully and we led with a good goal. Second half I thought was pretty even and we looked ok going forward just that once we got forward that was the end of it!
Agree about Magennis and Wilks. Magennis put in a shift again, but did next to nothing as a striker. Wilks was absolutely hopeless and anonymous yet again. Longman had an off day, really poor after a couple of very good performances - odd. And Elder doesn't look right either. Unlikely to win when 2 or 3 are way off it.
Elder was terrible, almost nothing went right, and both Longman and Bernard dropped a long way off their recent standards. Bernard needs to play a bigger part in playing out from the back, rather than constantly giving it back to McLoughlin.
