not suprised - struggling league leaders v struggling Forest who were tipped for play offs at least at start of season. The 3-2 thriller at St Marys also would have helped
I am one of those who has been saying this, and I take your point. But surely they don't necessarily need to stay in the same positions all the time do they? A bit of switching about between the LB and LM never does any harm, provided they have a system worked out between them so that one covers the other for defence purposes. I would be very surprised if they haven't been working on this on the training ground.
It's a game where I honestly think all three results have a strong possibility of occurring, and that must be a big pull for the BBC. The result is a million miles away from being a foregone conclusion.
That's the key point for me. I've got no problem with midfielders switching around - in fact, I think that's a great thing, as it makes it harder for the opposition to mark you and can gives you more options. But with your defence, it's not the same. If you're switching and swapping in your defence, mistakes can creep in, you might leave it to someone else to mark your man, you might incorrectly perform the off-side trap etc etc. But yes, if they've been working hard at it in training, then some switching would be ok - though I would still have Fox as the primary left-back.
Guly & Connolly ARE in the travelling party as they have been spotted getting off the coach however its still unclear if any are fit enough to play
Davis. Harding, Martin, Hooiveld, Fox. Cork, Hammond (c), Schneiderlin, Lallana. Guly, Connolly Looks to me it will either be a diamond or Schneiderlin on the right. No Fonte or Richardson.
Saints Vs Forest: Davis. Harding, Martin, Hooiveld, Fox. Cork, Hammond (c), Schneiderlin, Lallana. Guly, Connolly #saintsfc No Richardson or Fonte again, and we're looking at a diamond again I would say EDIT: Curse you Schneiderlin is the goal king!
TBH IMO i can't see us winning. I would love it if we did. i need to know who is on the bench. Not many players left. Where is butterfield? If he was playing then harding at LB then fox LM and then lallana RM. Bit more width.
Hope i'm wrong but its a real shame de ridder isn't playing for whatever reason, all three CMs are great CMs but none of them are wingers also frazer is a big miss he's been imense this season but thats what happens when you get injuries can't blame anyone. A win now would be a great achievment.
For Gods Sake why are people putting Harding at LB and Fox LM. I know its academic as Harding is on the right but if both did play on the left it shold be Fox at LB and Harding LM
On the bench for Saints this afternoon: Bialkowski, Butterfield, Reeves, De Ridder and Holmes #saintsfc so Butterfield and De Ridder are fit? apologies! strange we are playing a LB at RB despite a RB being fit enough
