From NUFC.COM Schar injury claim Thursday saw Switzerland announce a 24 man squad for European qualifiers against Belarus and Israel. Missing from that selection is Fabian Schar, with the Swiss FA press release listing the Newcastle defender as being unavailable due to an unspecified injury. Wonder if that means he's out for us too, or if the club are just blocking him from going on internationdal duty.

Club have no standing for competitive games to block the release of a player as I understand it, only for Friendlies. He always has a niggle though and could probably do with a rest. Belarus and Israel won't be the hardest games for Switzerland
It's more about him being missing for us that I'm worried about. Lascelles did OK when he stepped in, but it's the danger of our squad depth. Perhaps a reshuffle with Targett coming in?
