Disagree. Reading could have easily snatched a point against Bournemouth last night, who have generally been winning ugly in recent weeks. And Norwich only put game beyond Leeds in the last minute, much as we did tonight. To come away to Forest on a Wednesday night and snatch a 3-1 win is a real achievement, irregardless of the performance.
I must admit that I thought tonight would be a large banana skin waiting for us. Very pleased to just get the points.
Forest fans moaning about Ighalo saying he should get punished as well for his involvement in the sending off - what did he do? Sounds like he made a bit of a meal of the incident - well which players don't?
Been asleep all evening (I plead bad MS day, Mi'lud) and woken up by Mrs GG to discover this brilliant result and read through this thread. Suddenly feel a lot better. Thanks for everyone who chipped in, it was the next best thing to living through it in real time, and easier on my finger nails and stress levels! Will sleep easier again now. COYH!
Expect it's already been said, but we are guaranteed top 6 now, I think? Sights must be on automatic though.
1) No doubt you heard the BBC commentator Conor murray ? (not the muppet claridge) say (at 0-2) that if we got a third we would join the big boys. Well, that just about says it all. bournemouth must have grown a lot recently. 2) to win when you have to is much harder , and, credit to forest, they made it as hard as poss. 3) It may not have been 'professional', controlling the game at 2-0 and against 10 men, but hey, the way we play, dontcha just luv 'em !!
Ok, that's why good goalkeepers are valuable. A successful team has at least 18 good players. we cannot always play Blackpool or fulham every week.
Well I suppose we just have to accept a difference in opinions - Bournemouth have impressed all season and have dominated games both at home and away. Since Alex Neil arrived at Carrow Road Norwich have turned around their season and look a very decent side. True they have often relied on late goals but very rarely have they not deserved to win and by a lot more. We failed to beat both Bournemouth and Norwich.
According to the SSN reporter, after Wilson kicked out at/stamped on Ighalo, Lichaj had a word with him and he then kicked out at Lichaj. (Un)fortunately, the camera they were using to show the incident didn't have it within the area it was focusing on.
Just in case anyone was in any doubt as to where we football firmament, I am looking at the BBC football website. Look down the headlines. Says it all really.
"It takes a lot for us Forest fans to hand out praise but in the pubs after we had to hold our hands up ! Great game but got to admit you are probably the best and only team to risk attacking us like that on our own pitch! Best of luck and if we you end up in the play offs and end up playing the the Sheep up the road you can be assured of 30,000 extra fans backing you on the banks of the Trent! Look after Geddy our loss , your gain!!!" No need for comment!
