Got back an hour or so...poor pitch, poor Forest - but a cracking day out. Yes they were poor, but we are SO GOOD it takes your breath away at times...I have not been going to Watford for as long as a lot who post on here, but I have seen lot of different mangers and teams they have built, but without any doubt this the best Watford team I have seen by a long long long mile. GFZ has built a team to play such good football - now I have never been Lloyd's biggest fan, but he is probably playing the best football he has ever, so it's not just about the loan players he has brought in. For all of the regular posters on Not606 that live remotely and even in other countries - whatever it takes, just get to an away game and watch us, you will be enthralled like me, it is a joy! I am now going to Brizzle on Tues because I do not want to miss this....COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH
Brissssssslle is just down the road for me and everything going well I will be there on Tuesday night
I'm a pessamist by nature and I expected a hard fought away draw yesterday but to win so comfortably I never thought would happen. Amasing I'm at Bristol on Tuesday and just hope to see the same rather than a Charlton style result. I want us to go up and I do think if we can win 3 or 4 of next 5 we will be on Cardiff's tail and able to gain automatic place. Through the play-offs Hull or Leicester would be difficult.
I can't wait to see the highlights, hopefully Sky will have them on their website today. I'm going to the Palace game in a couple of weeks and can't wait to see how we play against a team that's around us in the table. I know I shouldn't get too excited but it is difficult when we are playing so well. We seem to be playing good football with a team that is getting stronger every week. COYH!
Cheers W-Y. I did have a look and couldn't see it anywhere - but does look like the Boxing Day match was, so assume Tuesday will be as well
A view from a Forest fan: "Well, I said before the game that Watford were one of the 3 best teams in this league but now I've seen them twice I can confidently say they are easily the best. Drop this team in the Premiership and they would comfortably survive. That said, we were woeful and Watford didn't need to get out of 2nd gear too many times to beat us. There is nothing we could have done today to get a win, every Watford player was better than his counterpart ......".
Another view from a Forest fan found on the Sky Sports site: "phillip says January 26, 2013 8:36pm Well done Watford. This coming from a Forest fan. We simply couldn't handle the hornets counter attacking instincts, and deserved what we got. Both teams have come under new ownership, yet Watford look a cracking side, possibly the best team we've played this season. A top blend of youth & experience, plus some familiar homegrown players, Doyley I recognise. So Udinese B some rare muppets have mutted is unfair, well blended team, Vydra, what a player. Forest, better look at next season, not over but could do better, we're not going to face Watford for the rest of the season, which is a relief. Blackstock, what a miss." Glad to see people starting to see what a well blended team we have.
I have just seen the 18 minutes of extended highlights on I player..... a joy to watch... the energy and enthusiasm of this team is great... even when forest had a few chances...... Vydras 2nd goal a gem.... I agree with W_Y.... this is a superb Watford TEAM.... I know one or two individs not the best.... but GZ has succeeded where GT did in producing great positive playing team.... with the added ingrediant of some great passing play... yes... a joy to watch PS.... even LLoydinhio looking excellent... yes he is playing at the top of his game
