    Aye Strummer squatted there and took a lot of his influences listening to reggae,mixed it up with raw energy hence The Clash and one of the best bands ever,just my opinion mind

    The guy's dad was loaded, but as far as I'm aware, he never took a penny off him. Notting Hill had a huge squating community in the 70's, and all sorts of hippies, anarchists, arttists, drop outs, & just people starting out in life unwilling or unable to join the ratrace. ****ing good time to be alive, in retrospect.

    Joe (John) was desperate for recognition - fame, even - but he didn't give a **** about money. Anyone who knew him will tell you that.
