A nasty piece of work. Most of us played football at some level. Did it ever cross anyones mind on here to stamp on anyone? I once had a foot stood on and the studs twisted. Pure agony, but to stamp on someone on the floor? Disgraceful x
Agree, although I do remember what George Best once said of Beckham, "Can't tackle, can't dribble, can't head the ball and isn't great with both feet but he can hit a good dead ball"!!!! IMO the English media over hype to many English players with this "world class" tag something that is banded around far to often at good players who may have shown moments of brilliance but unfortunately are not consistent enough to be classed as world class.
Also the worst thing is that he does it professionally. If it was sunday league he'd have the **** knocked out of him.
He shouldn't have kicked out at the opposition player but the fact that he did only showed his frustration in that match. Being fed by the likes of Gareth Barry and having a partner such as Darren Bent is only going to make Rooney agitated. These players are embarrassing. How many times did Bent get caught offside in that game? Why has Darren Bent even been selected ahead of Welbeck who has formed the most lethal partnership in the league with Rooney? Bent is always going to be there for a tap in but how reliable is he when your backs are to the wall? It's a joke how Crapello thinks he can just throw two strikers on a pitch together and think it's all going to be rosy on the pitch. I for one cannot wait until Wilshere and Cleverley are back into full flow and playing at the top of their game because by that time Gareth Barry and Fat Frank are on borrowed time, especially teachers bum boy Barry. Scott Parker and Gerrard will be fringe players making way for the youth to come through and make England a real force.
Rooney needs to grow up but I doubt he ever will. Really poor again to do that to your teammates. He got frustrated at mis-controlling the ball a few times, us letting them back in and then when the Montenegro player puts his arm in his face, he just uses it as an excuse to kick out. Childs play but we don't have enough talent in our ranks to leave a player like Rooney out, that's just reality. I can understand peoples frustration but the lad is far from overrated. He is a different coco for me and world class. What you do about his mental problems I'm not sure?
I've actually just seen the Rooney incident for the first time, and although silly, was nowhere near as bad as I expected.
It was fine for Sheringham and Solskjaer to score tap ins when Man Us 'backs were to the wall'. Rooney is a fantastic talent. However he lacks discipline is all of its aspects. All too often he can leave his team short upfront by tracking back trying to relieve pressure, but this leaves the respcetive teams short up front. So in fact has the reverse effect. This is more prevalent with England due to the smaller gulf in class with opponents compared to Man U, however it is still the case when playing top clubs, particularly in Europe. His frustration will often grow further, resulting in him doing something stupid like the other night. Its all well and good when things are going well His temperament is the only thing holding him back from being a world class player.
Could it be right that Wayne is going into the movies???I heard he is going to star in a new animated cartoon called "A thug's life"
