Saw this on twitter, sums it up. 'They should get Dale Winton to present the Abbaye and then have Merlin the lottery machine spit out the result.' <laugh> Well done if anyone's dart did land on that one though! Unlucky swanhills.

Yes, unlucky Swan. Talk about throwing the form book out the window. Hot Streak had no chance on that ground but ran very well until dropping out of contention. Still waiting for 5f on soft ground for him.

Found was a decisive winner of the Boussac. Can see the horse making her seasonal debut in next season's Guineas but her long term target will be the Oaks.

Richard Hughes must be going <doh> at how his day has gone so far, he just can't find gaps in running when he needs them. <laugh>

Would love to Quinn's horse win this especially following the death Countrywide Flame earlier this week - one of my favs. No bet though looks a tough assignment.

Gleneagles will be chucked out imo on a strict interpretation of French rules.

Countrywide Flame is a big loss to the stable. The Wow Signal ran so sort of race at all, thought to be the best horse John Quinn has ever had on the flat. Let's hope he trains on and wins a Group 1 next season.

Gleneagles will be unlucky to lose the race in the stewards room but this is France!

O'Briens 2 year olds running amok. That's a hell of a 2000 Guineas contender right there.

Wonder what the stewards will do, having seen yesterday any outcome is possible. Even if he loses it, he's the one you'd take out of the race. Class horse.

Based on yesterday he will lose the race. Made no effort to correct the drifting of Gleneagles across the other two horses, whip in wrong hand ....

It was harsh as was clearly the better horse. The difficult thing is that the horse was only doing what the jockey was asking really, there was no reason to continually whip with the left, without picking up the whip the horse would likely have run straight and won just as easily. Sometimes I feel Jockeys whip through habit, Gleneagles was racing and giving.

Brilliant piece on Sea the Stars on C4 with Alastair Down. O'Brien threw the Ballydoyle kitchen sink at him that year and couldn't get the better of him. IMHO the best since I've followed the sport.

Very harsh. but this situation in France, no surprise.

Wonderful tribute to Sea The Stars on Channel 4. Do hope Supreme Arkle was watching it! <laugh> Often wondered on which planet he resided when he frequently downgraded this great racehorse. Six Group 1's in one season, incredible!

Couldn't agree more Chaninbar. He was complete, the best flat horse I've ever seen and the greatest story in flat racing. Perfection in equine form indeed.

God Channel 4 misses Alastair, doesn't it. Passionate yet eloquent. Fabulous journalist.
