Player of the season: JWP (KWP close 2nd) Young player of the season: Broja Goal of the season: Armstrong vs Cov (JWP vs Wolves close but dead ball makes it slightly easier) Flop of the season: Djenepo (hasn't contributed at all, needs to be sold) Most improved player: Elyounnoussi Signing of the season: Tino
It's all about opinions of course but the technique required for JWP's strike has to be perfect to score from that range.
So does Armstrong's! I just think the outside of the foot technique is the hardest to get right and it was just a strike of the highest quality from Armstrong.
I think to beat a GK from that distance when they are ready and positioned with a wall in front is so difficult and you rarely see it, if ever. Not many expected him to shoot let alone score.
I don't disagree with that - I just think it comes down to personal preference. Both are fantastic strikes.
Player of the season: KWP Young player of the season: Broja Goal of the season: JWP v Wolves or 2nd goal away to Spurs Flop of the season: Armstrong though it's harsh as not his fault really Most improved player: Mo Signing of the season: Tino
We were right behind & just above. The curvature on the strike was just awesome. From a wonder strike going wide to a “could it?” to a “****ing hell” in a few milliseconds was … as you say!
On goal of the season, I actually can’t remember a season with the quality of goals we have scored this year I genuinely can’t pick. JWPs goal against Wolves will probably win but S Armstrong against Coventry, Perraud against West Ham and A Armstrong against Villa would all be worthy. KWP against Man City was insane as well especially considering the quality of opponent.
Player of the season: KWP for me. Young player of the season: Livramento. Would have gone with Broja but decided to exclude as he's not really ours until he is. Goal of the season: Armstrong in the FA Cup Flop of the season: Adarma. Not thru any fault of his but signed as a key player and never seen again counts as a major flop. Most improved player: Fraser Forster Signing of the season: Livramento. 5m? Crazy.
