Thing is, Van wolfie can play ATM aswell so may well play off Holt but has much more than any other player in the striking department in the squad Never guna happen, we'll end up with S**t like becchio or mackie!
Theres some bloke on the pinkun saying hes a Sporting supporter and he posted this... RvW "card" (don't know the correct name) belongs: 50% - Ireland "XXX" Fund which is held in partnership by Jorge Mendes (the famous agent) and Peter Kenyon (Chelsea guy). 35% - Sporting Clube Portugal (please dont right Sporting Lisbon) 15% - ESAF - a fund created by the club itself in partnership with a PT bank (called BES) So, as per my understanding, you need to have 100% according to PL rules. So you need to negociate with these 3 entities He's also said that the press in Portugal are reporting a deal is close, and thats why there actively seeking a replacement. Obviously could be a complete wind up
Well it shows the magnitude of the negotiations! I've really no idea how it works though, do you set a price and all 3 entities need to agree to it? Hopefully that's why it's protracted, but fingers crossed we can wrap it up. On the plus side, it might work in our favour by making it harder for a club to come in late and usurp us. Yeah, I can't see the diamond working. Maybe a different formation home and away? When at home play 4-4-2 without Wessi and allow RVW to drop deeper when he wants, and away play the more familiar 4-2-3-1, with Holt up top to start, Wessi in his normal role, and VWW to come on if we're chasing the game?
Lawro predicts NCFC will win over Spurs - never have I felt like kissing you Lawro! Lets hope you are right! Defoe injured and Adebayor away at ACofN.
A lot of stuff on the pink un is fantasy, not suggesting this is, but not overly confident on this one coming off
I am the other way, I can only see hoe they can play together. They are the three I see as the constants to build the rest of the midfield around. We are not good enough possession wise not to have Holt play, I'd see Holt as the outlet for the wide midfielders or clearance balls, RVW, Holt and the wingers the outlet for Hoolahan. Holt has better feet than I think people give him credit for and I think he'd link up well with him. Thats a pretty simplistic way to look at it, but it just gives us so many more options because at the minute the only time we really threaten is balls pumped in from free kicks. The only other option is to drop Hoolahan for him but for me that kind of defeats the object of signing him.
Thing is, if that is true about Kenyon being involved maybe we could give a first refusal clause in there for Chelsea to try and get the price down
Playing 4-3-1-2 with both Holt and new striker (whoever he may be) playing in front of Hoolahan. Central mid-field Johnson or Tettey with Pilkington and Snodgrass. Whittaker, Garrido, Bassong and Turner defence. Too radical for CH? I can remember when we used to play 4-3-3 to great effect. This relies heavily on both Snodgrass and Pilkington helping in mid-field defence. Not likely to happen, but it would allow two strikers to be on the pitch in an alternative to 4-4-2.
Flat Diamond with Hoolahan playing behind Holt and Van Wolfswinkle. Ridiculous attacking potential! Might work with Whittaker back but the person at the base of that diamond has got to be the best player ever!
Well, the bloke is Legit! He has 4000 posts on a Sporting Lisbon forum! He reckons he's on £50k a month wages, so easliy within our budget! All other clubs being linked i think are just random names where we have serious interest as Hughton has admitted, if were to meet the transfer fee this really could happen i believe! I just think that will be the stumbling block, the transfer fee itself!
A narrow 4-3-3 might work. Tettey-Johnson-Fox/Surman and Holt-Hoolahan-VWW, with Hoolahan having a fairly free role. Would only work against teams that don't have a lot of width though I guess, Spurs would crucify us playing like that.
-------------------Bunn---------------- Whittaker--Bassong--Davies--Garrido ------------------Tettey---------------- Snodgrass-------------------Pilkington ----------------Hoolahan--------------- ----------Holt---Van Wolfswinkle------ It's a formation I'm not sure would work, for a few reasons, but it's definitely mouthwatering. If everyone was on it this team would tear the league apart.
Yeah, he was the awkward one. I don't think Snoddy, Wessi, Holt and VWW can all be on the pitch together from the start, and my formation would aim at playing quite narrow, and building through the centre rather than out wide. Holt and Wessi both drift wide when attacking, so it's not like we wouldn't still be capable of putting crosses in, but this way there should actually be people in the middle when Holt delivers. Not really, as rather than having 2 CM's it'd be 3 DM's, just one with a little more creativity (Fox/Surman) It's probably more 4-2-1-1-2 than a diamond.
