I wish I hadn't read this, yes it would be amazing but I've got nothing done this morning constantly searching for something to confirm this as reality. Come on somebody nip down to Morrisons, tell Shola to sling it and tell me there's a sparkling new VW in the car park!
If Ricky's as good as we all think I think he'll be more likely to pitch up in Waitrose rather than Morrisons ...........
Apparently he's been sighted have a coffee with Delia in Morisons, according to twitter. That might win today's crappiest tweet award.
this has got to be by far the most ridiculous window for NCFC - so many strikers linked but nobody signed - except for Lee Camp
Hughton said we've been linked with 40-50 strikers. I think that's a bit of an exaggeration but there have been a few! Hooper Graham Mackie Mackail-Smith Austin Mulenga Traore Kamara Van Wolfswinkel Berg Bowditch Guidetti Macheda Welbeck (!!!) Ameobi Keane ... am i missing anyone? Edit: Unnamed Anderlecht Striker Murray Becchio King Helenius and Russell (as far as I know) were just thrown around by us. So was Ameobi, I imagine.
Apparently - (and don't tell Sporting Lisbon, or the price will go up) Wolfswinkel is Dutch for "dog's bollocks"
Strangest thing is how they just fizzled out from being a strong rumour to having no more news on them. Kei Kamara, Danny Graham for example.
Things took a turn yesterday re Graham and his apparent wish to leave the club, but this has since be denied by their CEO. I always think its a good thing for things to be quiet as I hope it means work is going on behind the scenes. Only time will really tell I suppose!
Well we were half-linked to an Anderlecht striker, Mbokani or Suarez, and Helenius has been thrown around a bit, although I'm not sure if that's just by us. You missed Glenn Murray too.
OH right, I didn't read much on the football yesterday was busy all day. Looking for a move then, he'll probably be on his way then.
Well today I am hoping we hear about signing a striker who wont get us all excited but we would probably be happy with (Becchio or CMS?) and maybe someone like Curtis Davies, and then kept biting our nails until the 11th hour for that key big signing of either Hooper, Graham or RVW. I expect to be disappointed!
An ideal window for me now would be RvW, Davies/Amoresbieta, and then Kamara or Redmond. But that's probably £15m+
I don't know. From the Earthquakes fan on here the other day, Kamara would most likely be competition for Pilks rather than Holt, but could play the pacy role up front like Jackson, but with a bit more aerial threat about him. So Kamara in and Jackson out would give us similar options up front but cover on the left. Redmond may be the more exciting prospect, but he's only a winger. On our budget the versatility might be helpful, especially if we're splashing big money elsewhere.
Jackson can't even play the pacy up role front like Jackson, and Van Wolfswinkel should more than have that covered regardless. He's not lightning but he's no slouch! Can't see any purpose in signing Kamara to be honest, he is essentially a mediocre (albeit swift) league one player.
This just came up on the BBC sportday ticker TRANSFER LATEST Gary Hooper's advisers believe Tottenham could make a bid to take the striker from Celtic to White Hart Lane. (Daily Record) For more gossip from north of the border, take a look at BBC Scotland's Scottish gossip column.
If we could get Redmond, we would have to go for him. I honestly think he has more potential then Zaha personally.
