Never knew that. I went to their ground many years ago and watched them V Metz they had the likes of Guily, Prso, Squallaci and a great midfielder called Jerome Rothen. I had the shock off my life at halftime when I sat up on a wall then glanced over my shoulder to notice a drop it's chiselled into a hill. We will need to break our transfer record to sign this fella but would be worth it. i reckon 5 or 6 mil euros would do it... But then again were going to one of europes wealthiest clubs wanting there prized asset, so realisticly could we get him... I'm not sure! Only thing going for us is that he has stated he wants to play in the premier league!
we had a scout at monaco vs nimes the other week. doesn't mean we'll sign him but i guess that's where the rumour is from
This is the sort of calibre player we need to be looking at now tbh, CMS would have been good last season but were moving away from that type I believe. This chap would end up as our main front man and we've been saying spend the money on a striker who can seriously challenge Holt and this is the bloke. Since hughton joined how many times have we been asking for our own demba ba etc, this could be him but I'm not expecting much to come of his!
he has been capped by senegal, but not in competitive matches. at 27 you would think he is approaching his peak, but maybe he just needs to step up to a higher level to really come good, just as someone called Holt. i'm excited by this news, and at 6'2" will add some height to our attack.
Nursey reckons the only way we will sign him is if he hands in a transfer request, also said we've had him watched on numerous occasions.
as i say, we've definitely had someone at a recent monaco match. i notice mcnally has tweeted we haven't made a bid for him - of course, naturally he would say that. he's not ruled anything out at all. not seen anything of him although i'd heard about his performances this season, albeit in ligue 2, but he seems to have the full package. good age (27), good height, strong, quick, powerful... holt mkII. he doesn't look as raw as the other guy we were linked with last week (mulenga)
