they don't play with any creativity in the side. he was really stifled up there. bad loan move in the end. ironically, palace would have been a better fit...
thanks supers, not too up on my championship footy this season so not really seen what dougie has done there
I thought he would have played more as well. If we have brought him in to play Premier League football, youd think he would be better than most of the players in the Championship! That said, is he a 'Bolton-style player'?
And I know I'd rather have Hooper and Graham instead of Morison and Jackson which would be a massive improvement. Even if they are British.
For every 2 or 3 decent players that get linked we then get linked with rubbish... first of all glenn murray and now Keith fahey.
Danny Graham would be an excellent signing, and a player who could slot nicely into our system. I'd be very interested in signing him. I'm not so interested in Hooper, really hope we don't pay over the odds for him, pretty sure we won't though.
F365 quote: Norwich are launching a £5million bid for Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal... I know he was mentioned earlier, but 5m??!
you're not including wes hoolahan then? if he isn't 'creative' then i see your standards as unattainable! bolton have been playing with two holding players and two up front, so no room for butterfield in that system. he'd play in the same role as hoolahan here so i'd like to see him get some game time here now, even if its only as a substitute for wes. i've seen enough of him to think that he's a cracking player - he just needs that spark to return and we'll have genuine competition for our irish maestro
the fee doesn't surprise me at all. he really is the complete midfield man - tackling, passing, industry, vision, skill... his only downside is his injury record and that is actually keeping the price down!
meanwhile, the daily fail are reporting we'll pay £3m for danny graham... i think that's ambitious. £5m and we may have a sneaky chance. we should have signed him when we were promoted - i know a lot of you agree with that. for me, if we go british, he's the most sensible signing we can make in this window. we know exactly what we'll get for our money
and we certainly won't be signing will buckley (sadly) - he's just signed a new, long-term deal at brighton.
The problem is that Michu is injured now and I can't see the Swans letting him go really. Especially as he has put a few in the onion bag whilst covering for Michu. I am in the Graham camp though, we know exactly what we will get from him and he will intergrate well into our existing team.
how long is michu out anyhow? they've got scheckter as well if the price is right they might still sell
I haven't checked but I think Danny Graham has score 3 or 4 in their last 2-3 games. That's a good return in the prem and if I was Laudrup I would be relectant to let him go. You never know though maybe he wants more regular football.
If a player is injured and it appears it won't just be for one game, is a club allowed to bring someone into the 25?
Michu is back now isn't he? And they started Luke Moore the other week ahead of Graham which would suggest something isn't right there. £5million would be very good business is we can make I happen
Reminds me of Tarrabt a bit with his skill and vision - would be a good signing for us as we do lack that "complete" midfielder. The Graham situation is difficult - will Swansea want to sell him - possibly not if the Michu injury looks like it could be longer term - if they do they'll be no shortage of suitors, some with deeper pockets than us - The Nukes for instance will be looking to replace Ba pretty quickly - they've been linked with Maiga but Graham would suit their style better - if Maiga joins the Magpies would Wet Sham want Graham to replace Maiga although that would leave Graham no better off in terms of first -team chances but probably better off in his wallet. He'd be a good fit for us and it would be great to get him, but I wouldn't be unhappy with Hooper either.
