    We're mostly all mates here so it's quite easy to have off topics where we're just chatting about stuff and having a laugh! Better than proper strict formal nothing-but-football talk, also makes it easier and funner to talk to each other properly. Obviously we all came here to chat football, but what's the problem if we wanna chat with each other about other stuff too? I'll be buggered if I'm off to gen chat for any of that stuff! **** it, I don't care, loosen up man!

    And yeah, as everyone else has said, it's pre season. So what's the dealio.

    Holystone, it is closed season and there is not a lot concrete things Newcastle United to talk about. The forum is for Newcastle supporters, we've done all the "What would you do with the £35 mill", players you would like, players you would like to unload, we've done it all. I don't do Facebook, I see what you're saying about us going off topic, but personally, unless I know absolutely what a post is about, I leave well alone.
    I would assume Shearers and the Gentlemans hour would contain content for the boys only so I stick to what I know is safe for me, otherwise I would only be able to post during the football season.

    I don't see the problem with off topic articles. Fair enough it's a football forum and we're here to talk Newcastle, but every single article doesn't have to be a serious one.

    If someone finds a daft youtube video or something, why not post it if they know there are like minded people who would also enjoy it? I don't think many of us go on General Chat (because it is absolutely chock-full of complete arseclowns) so there are always going to be articles not related to football. The forum wouldn't be half as much fun if every article was about the £35m and what formation we'll be using next season with players we won't sign.
