im doing 1 stop, the tyres can do about 205 km. im using 220 litres as i think high humidity in rain uses more fuel as density replaces fuel but i could be wrong so ill be using 20 more than originaly planned just incase im right. i wont be pittin for dry tyres and fingers crossed all goes well. gl guys

Interesting strategy, the fact that the pit stop takes so long is tempting me to go for a 1 stopper. With regards to fuel im thinking 220 but its a very high fuel track so might add an extra 5 ltrs to be safe.
 
No new driver for me, all 3 of the drivers I went for went elsewhere which is disappointing. I'll have another look before the monday decisions, but if I can't find anyone decent, I might leave it until after the race. I think I'm right in saying Talent becomes more important in wet races, so my current driver (with very high talent) may do ok in the wet race, then I could change him afterwards. Does that sound like a logical strategy. In the race, I'm thinking 1 stop too. I don't want to 2 stop, and then the weather dry up causing me to pit again, as the extra stop with such a long pit time would screw any chance of points.

EDIT: For those interested, Martin Brundle is on the market at the moment (here) - and he's pretty good, except the number of offers.

Salary is $832,000, which is a little higher than I'd like for his stats, but he doesn't currently have any offers, and with fitness training I can hopefully quickly sort out Stamina and Weight, which are the 2 I'm most worried by. Experience and TI should grow over time, but with the setup calc that should help negate the impact. We'll see!

i feel if my strategy will be to save time im gonna do it all the way. like how u mentioned the pit in/out time is massive so for me in a sense i feel safer with it. it may also deepend where u qualify u may wanna wait to see where qualify in q1 first

unlucky mate u picked the worst time decide u needed a new driver lol though having said that i totally agree with using your drver for this race his talent will help out alot and the driver market should ease a bit for ya with some decent drivers. that driver looks good but u can find drivers with same attributes cept higher exp, good salary and possibly stamina
 
Decided I'd stick with my old driver and get quali out of the way. Very happy I stuck with my old driver. 1st in Q1, 2nd in Q2, giving me provisional pole of 18 qualifiers and 120l of fuel onboard for a 1 stopper.

nice job, sounds like he could be really quick for this one, how many litres r u sing for the race? i assume ur running a longer first stint but 120 is prob bit more than what others are using which will benefit u even more, what where ur qualifying times?
 
Hey Jett'', I've gone with 120l for the first stint, and 110l for the second. (+20l as a safety stop if I've miscalculated)
Q1: 1:47.431 (1st)
Q2: 1:51.696 (2nd)

That gives a fuel effect of 0.035s/l.
 
Seems like a long time coming but the firstrace of the new season in here :).

Looking at qually, i don't think I'm going to do too well tonight, I'm well down the grid. The whole season is going to be hard work, I am just hoping to survive. What does everyone else think, what are your plans for this season?
 
I'd like to make the top 8 this season, and hopefully push for promotion next season. I'm currently on pole for this race, but I think I'm out of position as my driver has very high talent, when in all the dry races he'll need concentration. Hopefully I can pick up a decent driver this week for relatively cheap, if not I don't think I'll be challenging much in dry races.
 
I am just trying to cling onto as much money as I can so at least if I get relegated it will not be because I have gone into negative balance. Doing a one stopper for this race currently P25 on the grid. :(
 
My aim for this season is just to build a driver. I'd like to pick up some points towards the end of the season just to show I'm building my driver correctly. Qualified 15th (so far) for the first race.
 
5 places lost on the first lap! Thats probably my only pole of the season wasted!

Recovering a bit now, running third with 10s gaps ahead and behind. Unless my strategy is better than the top 2, I think that's where I'll finish, I don't seem to have any significant threats from behind, unless a 2 stopper is markedly quicker than my 1 stop.
 
Not going well for me, lapping slowly in 30th place, will be lucky to finish there as I think everyone else has gone longer on the fuel.
 
Just willing it to go dry now. If it's too late, my pitting for dry tyres will cost me 3 or 4 positions (assuming the others don't), whilst rain now may potentially give me a shot at moving forwards.

EDIT: Finished 2nd in the end, which I'm very happy with. I think a few guys around me miscalculated fuel (or anticipated rain), as 3 of the top 6 pitted with 3 laps to go. Unfortunately I wasn't quite quick enough in the final stint, so when the race leader emerged after his late pit stop, I was still 4 seconds behind.
