Fair and good points Ben, thanks again! I understand what you are saying about talent and that I will have to sacrifice other traits for it. But my ideal scenario is to pick a young new rookie driver and use the same one all the way to the very top. And as I don't want my "lack of" talent, in higher divisions, to be a hindrance for me, I still think that in my scenario, talent is crucial. I know I could just as well use another driver and then switch driver later on but I am planning on playing this game with long term goals, I will have to sacrifice on some other traits that is trainable over time. It is sort of more of a reward to take a complete rookie driver and make him progress to the ultimate champion. At least in my head However, I will definitely try find someone with more concentration and stamina as you suggest
if u get a talented driver and train everything else up while gaining ur way to the top, thats pretty much the ideal way of goin about it. i just think that we have to be a bit more realistic about things. truth is it may take u a few season just to promote to amateur with all the data u need to collect and by then ur drivers oa could exceed 85. in rookie if ur drivers oa is more then 85 u cnt renew his contract and if his contract runs out and his oa exceeds 85 u loose ur driver so i think that carrying the same driver to top is in my opinion is unrealistic but not impossible. ill tell u what if u do it then ud be one of the best managers in the game. but u kno what i may be wrong i mean im still new to this so if u go for a highly talented driver ill be very interested to see how u do
no im looking frenetically, only one hour and twenty minutes left until deal time, so feeling a bit stressed. There are no driver with 250 talent with low enough OA scores atm. I am also trying to find in the forum how you calculate the overall rating exactly. It is important he don't have too high OA as I doubt i will be able to advance starting this late in. The one I already had offered a contract(Coulthard) have OA 78 and I am not sure if I will be able to keep him below 85 until the season ends. Also his Talent is "only" 219. Must know exactly how OA calculated.
Talent of 250 http://gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=18034 Sorry, I've got no idea how OA is calculated. If you find out can you please let me know.
@Al Yea he has 250 talent among several others, but his OA is too high as I would want to keep him at season end. Sure will. Clearly it is an average of the other traits together but It doesn't seem that all of them weigh equally heavy. Crunching numbers here now for the full, will let you know if I figure it out.
they will never tell u how to calculate theyll just say 'foby' which mean find out by yourself. lol only 219. 219 is alot of talent. keepin his oa down is mainly keeping his motivation down and every driver is different but mainly fitness class and tech training will lower his motivation along with losing big time like pitting every lap or gettin ur bank account 15 mil in the red wich i dnt think u wanna do either lol. i couldnt tell u how to 'calculate the rating as im not exactly sure and given the fact that every driver is different there is no exact calculation. aftr every race depending on how u did some of ur attributes will gain mainly experience, motivation and sometimes stamina and tech insight. if u do well or win a race his motivation may gain about say up to 20 or more with some drivers depending on age, eagerness etc. what iv worked out so far is that for evry 10 points i get in the various attributes itll add 1 to ur oa and likewise losing 10 points decreases 1 point from ur oa but then again my driver is different to everyone elses. when i first joined i had a driver with 237 talent and his concentration was about 120 but he was old and had absolutley no stamina and suffered big time. id qualify easily in the top coz of his experience and talent but would place like 20th in the race so for me talent wasnt everything.

Canceled the Coulthard offer and made two offers to these: http://gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=8511 http://gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=11692 Both very cheap and young and have some concentration next to their high talent
Anyone that are part of a decent team yet? I found a Swedish team that seems nice(countrymen) but I'd prefer joining up with someone from here. And the 3 million fee is a bit too much to hop around :S
Christen im with a team called aus & nz but u can try and apply anyway. ull just have to call urself aussie like me lol. if anyone in here is in amatuer we can make a team. Have u wrked out ur ratios yet for the race im not gonna wrk it out yet but prob will soon.
lol now I understand why you have been so helpful, you were thinking I was a girl hehe.. My name is Christian and not Christen Oh Aussies are great! I played a lot with Aussies on other games over the years and their humor is usually hilarious in my taste. Don't think I ever met an Aussie or kiwi that I didn't like and I met plenty of them. Anyway, after further though I think maybe I should wait a bit before joining a team. We do share info here in this thread so joining a team would be a tiny bit waste of money maybe. And IF I do it is better we join separate team and get double info to learn from and share here and be better faster
Found out the exact values of what makes you better at setting the car and thought I'd share. As default you are maximum 135 points off when you hit perfect setup. Every point in Tech Insight will reduce it with 0.3 and capping at 250 which means a reduction of 75. Also, every point in Experience will reduce it with 0.1. Those are the only two driver traits that affects how good you can set up the car. So take 135 - TI*0.3 - EXP*0.1 and you get how many points off a true perfect setup you can maximum be.
So.... Which drivers have you guys been looking at? I need to get a new driver for next season, as mine current one will have too high an OA to be resigned. I don't know much about drivers stats yet, so what has everyone found out? Do you guys think it's best to go for a guy who you can train up, or is it best to just pay a certain price and get a prooven good driver?
How much is his Motivation? You can lower that easily by going in debt hence lowering his OA. As the money will reset anyway it wouldn't matter anything really. I think it doesn't matter.. If you feel you learnt enough of the game to be able to cope with the tougher competition in next class, then I would definitely pay a little extra for a driver with good stats and make sure I advance by playing a solid safe game finishing at the top and not necessarily going for the win every race. Funny I am trying to help i haven't even been racing one race yet lol.. No offense mate, I have been reading the forum constantly for 1.5 days now :|
