I done the last world cup one with my local William Hill bookies, one of the clerks in there asked all the regs if they wanted to enter, ended up being about 50+ of us, I came second by 10 points... Which was pretty much equated to a goal and a player playing at least 70 mins! I was heartbroken but now determined to ensure I don't suffer the same agony as 4 years ago!

Did pick up £200 though so not all bad <laugh>

HAha you need that luck my friend! just don't do what I done last year, made subs twice by mistake due to a glitch on the browser and was deducted 30 points <doh> meaning I nearly defeated myself!

This world cup should be a great one, Will need to adopt a second team, you know a team that actually plays football! was going to be Columbia but with Falcao out they aren't as attractive, he would be my captain in my team!

    Haha ouch!

There was talk that Falcao may be fit for the World Cup, not sure how concrete the info was though. Columbia do have Muriel and Martinez, two other top class strikers, Muriel reminds me of the old Ronaldo.

It's the unknown ones that tend to do the best as most people pick similar world stars so it's the luck of finding a cheap gem, last World Cup, ironically mine was Ozil, he was only going for like £5m in the dream team I was in, which was pennies and ended up with about 4 assists and one or two goals plus two MOTM awards, he was the main reason I finished about 30 odd points above 3rd place. Valter Birsa was also someone that got me a fair few points with a goal and couple of assists, he was going for like £1m!

Benteke or Lukaku may be a good early shout for captain, Belgium's group should be a cake walk for them so I'd be surprised if one of those two aren't amongst the goals in the group stages at least.

I hope Falcao makes it, I just have a liking for Columbia, nothing to do with drugs! just when the world cup comes around I like to adopt a second team and get into the world cup as its depressing trying to follow England, not even because we're crap, just because there is such a dour atmosphere to the team and everything about us, no excitement, passion but I'll no doubt be sat there hoping for the 50th long ball to come off when we face spain or italy and we're camped in our half!

But as for the fantasy football, I'll have a look at the groups and see whos has a fairly easy route outside the big nations. Chadli could be the star for Belgium

Yeah England bore the hell out of me, that's why I didn't watch the match last night. Belgium will probably be my second team, purely due to the Spurs factor.

Chadli WILL be the star for Belgium :D

Oi SOS. My good friend. Over 3 million players in the fantasy football game and I sit 46th overall.

I could even transfer Chadli in without doing too much damage but I wouldn't want to jinx him even further!

As we enter the business end of the season, I obviously can't be caught, but rremembercolinlee has been surging up the table and into second while SOS showed some promise but that ended when he made Chadli captain...:)

Special mention for SOS who finished over 400 points behind the leader (cough) <cheers>...although don't be too distraught as I finished as the number 1 spurs fan globally........which should be awarded with a seat on the board <whistle>

Well done! Modesty should let you wait for someone else to post it, but well done all the same <whistle>

As for your seat on the board - before I second this you need to set out your platform. I need to know it is no to Sandro, Lloris, Paulinho and Vertonghen sales and that Sherwood should be offered a new contract...........as youth team manager! If you agree these things, then I second your step up to the board.

I was in a battle (for the Tottenham league) with this guy who got a tad cocky and changed his team name to "Only One Christov" and his name to "And he is top as always"....:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Though on the bright side, I did come top of my mini league with mates, resulting in me taking home the £50 winners pot. :D

I was leading for the first month - then Benteke got injured and the team dropped, then a couple of months later Ramsey got injured and they sank again. In other words, the players I drafted in to replace them generally failed...
